Turn Microsoft Project into Your Everyday Planning ToolUntitledSkills You Apply from Day One

Microsoft Project Training in Sweden gives project managers, planners and PMO professionals the practical skills to plan, schedule, resource and track projects using Microsoft Project (MS Project), the industry-standard scheduling software from Microsoft Corporation. Delivered at two levels, Fundamentals and Advanced, the training turns the software from a mystery into an everyday tool you control with confidence. The Fundamentals level (2 days) builds the core skills: creating a project and calendar, building the work breakdown structure, linking tasks, finding the critical path, assigning resources, and tracking progress against a baseline. The Advanced level (3 days) extends into resource levelling, cost management and Earned Value, custom views and reports, master projects and programme management, all through hands-on exercises using realistic project scenarios. This is a practical, non-assessed course for anyone responsible for project schedules across Sweden's construction, engineering, green-industry, IT and consulting sectors, where demand for confident planners is rising alongside major infrastructure and net-zero programmes. Whether you work in Microsoft Project Standard, Professional or Project Online within Microsoft 365, you leave able to apply the skills straight away. Skills You Will Build in Microsoft ProjectApplying the Tool from End to End

In Microsoft Project training you learn to build, resource, track and report a complete project schedule, from your first Gantt chart to advanced multi-project control. Each capability below maps to a real feature you will use at work, taught through hands-on exercises in the software.

    Build a Reliable Project Schedule

Create a project and calendar, enter the work breakdown structure with summary tasks, subtasks and milestones, and set realistic durations, so a list of work becomes a structured, scannable schedule in Microsoft Project.

Link Tasks and Find the Critical Path

Connect tasks with Finish-to-Start and other dependency types, apply lag and lead time, and use constraints and deadlines. Read the critical path and total float to see what really drives your finish date.

    Assign and Balance Resources

Create work, material and cost resources, assign them to tasks, and manage assignment units and effort-driven scheduling. Spot over-allocation and resolve it with resource levelling and clearer workload views.

    Set Baselines and Track Progress

Save a baseline as your approved plan, record actual progress with percent complete and actual values, and use the Tracking Gantt and variance tables to catch slippage before it derails delivery.

    Manage Costs and Earned Value

Set a cost baseline, track actual costs, and calculate Earned Value metrics including BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI and estimate at completion, so you can report project health with numbers leaders trust.

    Build Custom Views and Reports

Create custom fields with formulas and RAG graphical indicators, design custom tables, views, filters and groups, and produce visual reports and dashboards instead of sending raw project files.

    Run Master Projects and Programmes

Insert subprojects into a master project, create cross-project dependencies, share a resource pool, and report at programme level, resolving resource conflicts across several projects at once.

Plan What-If Scenarios and Close Out

Use multiple baselines to compare scenarios, manage schedule risk and buffers on near-critical tasks, and close projects cleanly with final performance reporting and an archived record.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Microsoft Project training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource and track projects using Microsoft Project. It is offered at two levels, Fundamentals for new users and Advanced for experienced users, and is delivered by Invensis Learning across Sweden.

    General

    What is Microsoft Project training?

Microsoft Project training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource and track projects using Microsoft Project. It is offered at two levels, Fundamentals for new users and Advanced for experienced users, and is delivered by Invensis Learning across Sweden.

Who should take this Microsoft Project course?

It suits project managers, coordinators, planners, PMO analysts, programme managers and anyone responsible for project schedules. Fundamentals is ideal if you are new to the software; Advanced is for regular users who want to master resource levelling, Earned Value, custom reports and multi-project management.

Is Microsoft Project training worth it in Sweden?

Yes. Employers across construction, engineering, green industry, IT and consulting rely on Microsoft Project for scheduling, and confident planners are in demand as Sweden invests heavily in infrastructure and net-zero programmes. The skills apply on the job immediately and travel across sectors.

Do I need prior experience to start?

No prior Microsoft Project experience is needed for the Fundamentals level; basic familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office helps. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on experience with the software.

Which version of Microsoft Project does the training cover?

The training covers the core Microsoft Project desktop application, Standard and Professional, and introduces Project Online within Microsoft 365. The scheduling skills you learn apply across recent versions of the software.

    Pricing

How much does Microsoft Project training cost in Sweden?

Fees depend on the level you choose, the delivery format and whether you train individually or as a group. Instructor-led pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training at your chosen level, hands-on exercises using realistic project scenarios, learning materials and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Ask about the full inclusions when you request a quote.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate and group pricing for teams and PMOs, with tailored schedules and delivery on your own project data. Request a group quote and we will build a package around your team's needs.

Do I need a Microsoft Project licence, and is it included?

You should have Microsoft Project installed and accessible during the training. Microsoft Project is a separate product from Microsoft Corporation. Check with our team whether a trial licence is available or whether you should arrange your own before the course.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the Fundamentals level?

You will create a project and calendar, build the work breakdown structure, link tasks with dependencies, identify the critical path, assign work, material and cost resources, spot over-allocation, set a baseline, track progress with percent complete, and generate built-in reports.

What does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced covers task types and the scheduling formula, resource pools and levelling, cost management and Earned Value, custom fields, views and visual reports, master projects with cross-project links and programme reporting, plus what-if scenarios and project closure.

How long is each level of the training?

The Fundamentals level runs over 2 days (16 hours) and the Advanced level over 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day or extended half-day sessions. You can attend either level on its own or both in sequence.

    Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Both levels are built around live, hands-on exercises in Microsoft Project using realistic project scenarios. You follow along as the trainer demonstrates each feature, building genuine proficiency through practice rather than theory alone.

Does the training relate to PMP or PRINCE2 methods?

Yes. Microsoft Project is the scheduling tool used to apply project management methods such as PMBOK-based practice and PRINCE2, including critical path and Earned Value techniques. The course complements methodology training by teaching the software that puts it into practice.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for Microsoft Project training?

No. This is a practical skills course with no examination at either level. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on exercises throughout the training rather than a test.

Do I receive a certificate after the course?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the training. There is no external awarding body for Microsoft Project skills training, so it is not a formal certification, but it records your completion.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build and demonstrate skills through hands-on Microsoft Project exercises using realistic scenarios during the sessions, so you leave able to apply what you have learned.

What will I be able to do after the training?

After Fundamentals you can build, resource and track a full project schedule. After Advanced you can level resources, report Earned Value, build custom views and reports, and manage master projects and programmes in Microsoft Project.

Should I take Fundamentals or Advanced?

Choose Fundamentals if you are new to Microsoft Project or use it occasionally. Choose Advanced if you already use it regularly and want to master resource levelling, Earned Value, custom reporting and multi-project management. Many learners take both in sequence.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in Microsoft Project training?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your level and preferred format, complete your booking, and you will receive access to schedules, joining details and learning materials. A learning advisor can help you pick the right level.

What delivery formats are available in Sweden?

The training is available as live virtual (online) instructor-led sessions, classroom training and onsite corporate delivery. You can choose the format that best fits your schedule and location across Sweden.

    When can I start?

New sessions run regularly in both live virtual and classroom formats. Contact us to see upcoming schedules and reserve a place, or to arrange dates for a corporate group.

Can I reschedule or transfer my booking?

Yes. We deliver onsite and live virtual group training for project teams and PMOs, tailored to your projects and scheduled around your team. Request corporate training to plan a session for your organisation.
