What Is the PMP Certification?UntitledThe Global Standard for Project Leaders

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the Project Management Institute's flagship credential and the global benchmark for professionals who lead and direct projects and teams. PMP certification training in Singapore gives experienced project practitioners a structured route to that credential, and to the senior delivery roles that come with it. The programme is built on the PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, so you cover predictive, plan-based delivery, agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, business analysis and strategic value, and stakeholder engagement. You prepare for the 180-question, 230-minute PMI exam, delivered through Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre. It suits project managers, delivery leads and functional managers who already run project work and want it formally recognised. Singapore employers in banking, technology, the built environment and the public sector consistently list the credential in senior job specifications. Start your journey with Invensis Learning and turn the experience you already have into a credential the market values.

Where the Credential Takes Your Career in SingaporeRoles, Demand and Pay

Certified project leaders are among the best paid delivery professionals in Singapore, and the roles are open now. Project managers here average around S$108,000 a year, senior project managers around S$140,000, and programme managers move well past that, with certification repeatedly named as the lever that gets candidates to the top of the band. Demand runs across banking and fintech, technology and data centres, the built environment, aviation, healthcare and the public sector. Here is what the market is telling us right now.

What Is Driving Demand for Certified Project Leaders in Singapore

Singapore is running more complex delivery with a thinner pool of proven project leaders. The credential is how employers tell the difference. Join professionals who are stepping up to lead the work that matters, and start your journey today.

The Gap Between Running Projects and Leading Them

    What Changes Once You Certify

Singapore is delivering more transformation, infrastructure and regulated change than its pool of proven project leaders can absorb, and employers increasingly use certification to separate candidates. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

How to Get PMP Certified in SingaporeStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMP certification path in Singapore is designed for experienced project managers. You complete the required 35 contact hours, document your project leadership experience, apply to PMI, prepare with mocks and assessments, and schedule your exam through Pearson VUE. Once you pass, you join the global community of 1.2 million+ PMP-certified professionals.

    Step 1: Eligibility Check

Confirm you meet one of PMI's two pathways: a four-year degree with 36 months of project leadership experience, or a secondary degree with 60 months of experience. Both pathways require 35 hours of project management education.

    Step 2: Enroll

Select the learning format that best suits your schedule and goals, including online, instructor-led, and corporate PMP training for teams. Once enrolled, you gain access to courseware, schedules, and a structured study plan to earn the required 35 contact hours.

    Step 3: Attend Classes

Complete live instructor-led sessions or self-paced learning modules included in your PMP training course online or classroom-based program. Participate in case discussions and cover the PMP syllabus across the People, Process, and Business Environment domains, including predictive, agile, and hybrid project management approaches.

Step 4: Document Experience and Apply to PMI

Document your project leadership experience (36 or 60 months, depending on pathway) and submit your PMP application to PMI. Our team supports you with the application process and experience documentation.

    Step 5: Preparation

Use 1,500+ practice questions, 5 full-length PMP mock exams, 1 Agile model exam, flashcards, and the exam simulator to strengthen weak areas and build speed for the 180-question exam.

Step 6: Schedule and Take the Exam

Once your PMI application is approved, schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center or take it online, proctored. Take the 230-minute, 180-question PMP exam covering People, Process, and Business Environment.

Step 7: Pass and Get Certified

After passing, you receive your PMP credential and digital badge, valid for three years. Maintain certification with 60 PDUs across the three-year cycle (35 in Education, 25 in Giving Back).

Skills You Will Master Across the PMP DomainsPredictive, Agile and Hybrid Delivery

You will learn to plan, deliver and govern projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, mapped to the PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition. The programme covers project management fundamentals, plan-based methodologies, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategic management, and stakeholder engagement and communication.

    Project Management Fundamentals in Practice

Skills covered in PMP begin here: the principles, life cycle concepts, roles and value delivery ideas that hold true across predictive, agile and hybrid work. You will be able to choose the right delivery approach for a project instead of defaulting to the one you know, and apply PMI's ethics and professional conduct standards under pressure.

    Predictive, Plan-Based Delivery

Build and control a plan end to end: charter, scope and work breakdown structure, network diagrams and critical path, resource levelling, cost baselines and quality planning. You will use earned value management and integrated change control to report progress with evidence, which is what boards and clients in regulated sectors expect.

    Agile Frameworks and Hybrid Delivery

Run iterative delivery with confidence. You will apply Scrum roles, events and artefacts, manage flow with Kanban and work-in-progress limits, use Lean and XP practices, and blend agile with plan-based elements in hybrid models. You will also read velocity, burndown and cumulative flow data to make real decisions.

    Business Analysis and Strategic Value

Connect the project to the business case. You will run needs assessments and gap analysis, elicit and manage requirements through interviews, workshops, use cases and user stories, define acceptance criteria, and track benefits with KPIs so you can show what the investment actually returned.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

Identify, analyse and classify stakeholders, then tailor engagement to each of them. You will plan communication channels and cadence, manage expectations and conflict, report through dashboards and status reporting, and keep virtual and cross-cultural teams aligned, which matters in Singapore's multinational delivery environment.

    Exam Readiness and Scenario Technique

Prepare for the real thing: 180 questions in 230 minutes, closed book, mixing multiple choice, multiple response, matching, hotspot and fill-in-the-blank items. You will practise scenario questions, learn to eliminate distractors under time pressure, and walk in with a tested exam-day strategy.

    General

Is the PMP worth it in Singapore?

Yes. Project managers in Singapore average around S$108,000 a year and senior project managers around S$140,000, and PMI's Earning Power survey reports a substantial pay advantage for credential holders over uncertified peers. Employers in banking, technology, engineering and the public sector routinely list it in senior job specifications.

    What is the PMP certification?

The PMP is PMI's flagship project management credential and the global benchmark for professionals who lead and direct projects and teams. It validates competence across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery, and is recognised in more than 200 countries.

    Who should take this course?

It is designed for experienced project managers, delivery leads, consultants and functional managers who already direct project work. If you lead scope, schedule and resources, even without a formal project manager title, you are the intended audience.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

Three years from the date of certification. To keep it active you earn 60 PDUs within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements programme, with at least 8 PDUs in each Talent Triangle area: Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen.

Which standard is the training based on?

The programme follows the PMP Examination Content Outline published by the Project Management Institute, with the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition as the primary reference standard. Agile content also draws on PMI's Agile Practice Guide.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The fee covers live instructor-led sessions with accredited trainers, PMI-aligned courseware, exam-style practice questions and mock exams, guidance on the PMI application, and post-training support. Training in Singapore is quoted in SGD and varies by format. Request a quote for current pricing.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD and charges a lower rate to PMI members than to non-members. Membership also gives you free access to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the Agile Practice Guide. Confirm the current fees at pmi.org before you apply.

How much does PMP training cost in Singapore?

Pricing depends on the format you choose, live online, classroom or corporate group delivery, so we quote it on request in SGD. Group bookings are priced separately. Talk to a learning advisor for a quote that matches your schedule and cohort size.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer customised corporate training for teams in Singapore with volume-based pricing, tailored case studies and schedules built around your delivery commitments. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

Are there any other costs I should plan for?

Plan for the PMI exam fee, optional PMI membership, and reexamination fees if you need a second or third attempt. Renewal costs apply every three years when you recertify. All PMI fees are billed in USD and published on pmi.org.

    Exam

What happens if I do not pass on my first attempt?

You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window that opens when PMI approves your application, and reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Your score report shows domain-level feedback, so you know exactly where to focus, and our trainers help you plan the retake.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

180 questions in 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. It is closed book and uses multiple choice, multiple response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank question types.

What are the PMP exam domains and their weights?

The updated Examination Content Outline built on the 8th edition covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage. The pass mark is set through psychometric analysis, and your result is reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback rated Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Aim for consistent strength across all domains.

Where can I sit the PMP exam in Singapore?

You can take it online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system from home or the office, or in person at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website once your application is approved.

Does the exam cover agile as well as waterfall?

Yes, substantially. The updated syllabus gives agile frameworks and methodologies a dedicated domain worth 27% of the exam, alongside 28% for predictive plan-based methodologies. That mirrors how most Singapore teams actually deliver, using both.

    Course Content

Do I need prior project experience to join?

You can join the training at any stage, and the sessions build from first principles. To sit the PMI exam, however, you need either a four-year degree with 36 months of leading projects, or a secondary school qualification with 60 months, plus 35 contact hours of project management education.

What topics does the PMP syllabus cover?

The training covers all five domains of the updated Examination Content Outline: fundamentals and core concepts, predictive plan-based methodologies, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategic management, and stakeholder engagement and communication, plus exam strategy.

Which tools and techniques will I actually practise?

Predictive tools such as the work breakdown structure, critical path method, earned value management, risk registers and RACI charts, alongside agile practices including sprint planning, product backlogs, Kanban boards, velocity, burndown charts and retrospectives.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?

Yes. The materials follow the current PMP Examination Content Outline with the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition as the reference standard, so what you study is what the exam tests.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. You get exam-style practice questions mapped to the domains, full-length mock exams timed to the 180-question, 230-minute format, and scenario drills so you are used to the question types before exam day.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol online and join the next available cohort. Choose live online or classroom delivery, complete payment, and you receive schedules, courseware and learning resources straight away. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to pick the right start date.

What training formats are available in Singapore?

Instructor-led training online (live virtual) with real-time trainer interaction, in-person classroom sessions, and customised corporate group training delivered onsite or blended for teams across Singapore and the region.

How do I apply to PMI for the exam?

Create a PMI account, document your education, your project leadership experience and your 35 contact hours of project management education, then submit the online application. PMI reviews most applications within a few business days, and a proportion are randomly audited.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. You can reschedule or move to a later cohort, and selected plans let you attend the training a second time. Contact our support team and we will arrange it around your project commitments.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Speak to a learning advisor before you book if you want the exact terms that will apply to your enrolment.
