AWS DevOps training is a practical skills programme that teaches you how to implement DevOps practices on Amazon Web Services. It is designed for developers, cloud engineers, system administrators, operations professionals and technical leads who want to build CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure and run containerised applications on AWS.

Yes. As Barbadian banks, fintechs, telecoms and government teams move core services to the cloud, demand for professionals who can automate delivery and keep AWS environments reliable is rising. Cloud and DevOps roles are among the better-paid technical positions on the island.

No formal prerequisites are required. Some familiarity with core AWS services and basic Linux or command-line skills is helpful, but the programme introduces the AWS DevOps tools from a practitioner perspective, so motivated beginners can follow along.

You work with the AWS DevOps toolchain: CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy and CodePipeline for delivery; CloudFormation and the AWS CDK for infrastructure as code; Amazon ECS and EKS for containers; and Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring and observability.

The programme runs for one day (eight hours) and can also be delivered as two extended half-days totalling eight hours. It covers the full DevOps lifecycle on AWS with hands-on exercises throughout.

    General

What is AWS DevOps training and who is it for?

Is AWS DevOps a good skill to learn in Barbados?

Yes. As Barbadian banks, fintechs, telecoms and government teams move core services to the cloud, demand for professionals who can automate delivery and keep AWS environments reliable is rising. Cloud and DevOps roles are among the better-paid technical positions on the island.

Do I need prior AWS experience to take this training?

No formal prerequisites are required. Some familiarity with core AWS services and basic Linux or command-line skills is helpful, but the programme introduces the AWS DevOps tools from a practitioner perspective, so motivated beginners can follow along.

Which AWS tools will I learn to use?

You work with the AWS DevOps toolchain: CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy and CodePipeline for delivery; CloudFormation and the AWS CDK for infrastructure as code; Amazon ECS and EKS for containers; and Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring and observability.

    Pricing

How much does AWS DevOps training cost in Barbados?

Pricing depends on the delivery format and group size, so a current quote is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for individual and corporate options tailored to your needs in Barbados.

What is included in the training fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led delivery across all six modules, hands-on AWS exercises, structured courseware and learning resources, learner support, and a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for development, cloud and operations teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

Are there any AWS account costs during the training?

Hands-on exercises use AWS services, which may incur small usage charges. Many activities fit within the AWS free tier. Confirm with us whether a shared training environment is provided or whether you should use your own AWS account.

    What payment methods are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Assessment

Is there a test or assessment at the end of the training?

No. This is a practical, non-certification skills programme with no formal examination. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on AWS exercises throughout the day rather than a written test.

Do I receive anything on completing the training?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning, recognising that you have completed the AWS DevOps training and the hands-on exercises.

How is my learning reinforced during the course?

Learning is applied through live exercises using the AWS Console and CLI. You configure repositories and build files, assemble a pipeline, write a CloudFormation template, deploy a containerised app and set up CloudWatch alarms and dashboards.

    Is this a certification course?

No. It is a practical skills training programme, not a certification course. There is no awarding body and no formal credential. The focus is on building AWS DevOps skills you can apply immediately at work.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to build CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, automate infrastructure with CloudFormation and the CDK, deploy containers to ECS and EKS, set up CloudWatch monitoring, and apply DevSecOps practices across your delivery lifecycle.

    Course Content

What topics does the AWS DevOps training cover?

The programme covers six modules: DevOps and the AWS ecosystem; source control and CI with CodeCommit and CodeBuild; continuous delivery with CodeDeploy and CodePipeline; infrastructure as code with CloudFormation and the CDK; containers with ECS and EKS; and monitoring, DevSecOps and continuous improvement.

Does the training include hands-on AWS practice?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day. You follow along in the AWS Console and CLI while the trainer demonstrates each service, so you practise building pipelines, infrastructure and monitoring as you learn.

Will I learn about containers with ECS and EKS?

Yes. You learn to build Docker images, store them in Amazon ECR, and deploy and scale containerised applications on Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS, including rolling and blue/green deployment approaches.

Does the course cover infrastructure as code?

Yes. You work with AWS CloudFormation templates and stacks and the AWS CDK to provision infrastructure as code, creating consistent, repeatable environments across development, testing and production.

    Is security and DevSecOps included?

Yes. The training covers shift-left security, adding scanning to the pipeline, IAM least-privilege roles, and secure credential handling with Secrets Manager and Parameter Store, so security is built into every stage of delivery.

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. A learning advisor can guide you through the steps.
