Is there an exam for the Kaizen course?

No. Kaizen is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulation, team activities and discussion during the one-day programme.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. No formal credential is awarded by an external body, as the Kaizen methodology has no governing body.

How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you practise the method through Kaizen event simulation exercises and team activities, applying the tools during the training so you can use them straight away.

Will this prepare me to lead Kaizen events at work?

Yes. The course is built around facilitation, so you practise planning and running a Kaizen event on realistic scenarios. You leave able to lead events and coach a team through improvement.

Does the training expire or need renewal?

No. The skills you learn do not expire and need no renewal, since there is no credential to maintain. Kaizen is immediately applicable and stays useful throughout your career.

The course covers the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle, Gemba and the eight wastes, root cause tools such as 5 Whys and fishbone diagrams, planning and running a Kaizen event, 5S, standard work, the Kaizen newspaper and sustaining gains.

You learn practical tools including PDCA, Gemba walks, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, process and spaghetti mapping, 5S, standard work and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking actions.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on workshop simulation runs throughout the day, so you practise planning and facilitating a Kaizen event on realistic process scenarios rather than only learning theory.

Does Kaizen relate to Value Stream Mapping or Six Sigma?

Yes. Value Stream Mapping identifies where to run Kaizen events, while Kaizen delivers the improvements. Kaizen events are also used in the Improve and Control phases of Six Sigma DMAIC projects.

What materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, exercises, reference guides and templates that support the session and give you practical tools to take back to your workplace.
