Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

Choose Fundamentals if you are new to Jira or use it occasionally and want confident everyday skills. Choose Advanced if you already use Jira and want to master workflow configuration, JQL, automation, integrations and administration. Both can be taken independently or in sequence.

Do I need prior experience to learn Jira?

No. The Fundamentals level has no prerequisites and is designed for beginners; basic familiarity with agile concepts helps but is not required. For the Advanced level, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience.

Do I need to pay separately for a Jira licence?

Jira is an Atlassian product, and Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users that is ideal for practice. The training fee covers the course, not a commercial Jira subscription. Ask your advisor whether a shared practice environment is provided.

Assessment

Is there an exam for the Jira training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no test to sit. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises throughout each level, so you build real proficiency by doing the work rather than by revising for an assessment.

How am I assessed on the course?

There is no formal assessment. You practise continuously with realistic agile delivery scenarios, configuring projects, boards, workflows and reports as the trainer demonstrates each feature, so your capability is built and checked through practical activity.

Do I get a certificate after completing the training?

Yes. On completing the Fundamentals or Advanced level you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It confirms the practical Jira skills you have built and is separate from any Atlassian product credential.

Will the training make me job-ready on Jira?

Yes. The course focuses on practical, on-the-job skills. After Fundamentals you can run projects, boards and sprints and read Agile reports; after Advanced you can configure workflows, schemes, automation and integrations that agile teams in Ecuador rely on.

Do I need my own Jira access during the training?

You should have access to a Jira environment to follow the exercises. Jira Cloud offers a free trial, and some sessions provide a shared practice environment. Confirm the arrangement for your chosen batch with your learning advisor before you start.

What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

Fundamentals covers navigating Jira, creating Scrum, Kanban and business projects, the Epic, Story, Task and Bug hierarchy, sprints, the Kanban board, roadmaps, versions, components, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports such as the velocity and burndown charts.

What topics does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced covers workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission, notification, screen and field schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira Automation, DevOps integrations with Bitbucket and GitHub, and Jira administration.

Is the training hands-on or theory based?

It is highly hands-on. You follow live exercises in a Jira environment while the trainer demonstrates each feature, using realistic agile software delivery scenarios so you build practical proficiency you can apply at work straight away.

Will I learn JQL and reporting?

Yes. Fundamentals introduces saved filters, basic JQL and the core Agile reports. The Advanced level adds complex JQL, including the CHANGED and WAS operators, plus dashboards and gadgets for team and management reporting.

Does the course cover Jira administration and automation?

Yes, in the Advanced level. You learn to configure schemes and workflows, build no-code Jira Automation rules with triggers, conditions and actions, manage users and global settings, and apply governance best practices for a healthy Jira instance.
