    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

It is an open-book, scenario-based objective test. The PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted, and questions require analysis and judgement rather than recall. It is delivered online through PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam and how long is it?

The exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete it. Because it is open book, efficient manual navigation and deep method knowledge both matter.

What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

You need 60% to pass, which is 42 out of 70 marks. The questions are scenario-based, so broad, applied mastery of the PRINCE2 7 syllabus areas matters more than memorising isolated facts.

What if I do not pass the exam first time?

You can resit the Practitioner exam. Our training includes scenario practice, mock questions and open-book technique to build your readiness before exam day. Confirm the current resit policy and any fees at peoplecert.org, and our team can guide you through rebooking.

Which edition does the exam cover?

The exam is based on the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus, aligned to the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) Managing Successful Projects manual. PRINCE2 7 introduces the People capability, renames Themes to Practices, and adds sustainability, ESG and digital data content.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PRINCE2 Practitioner course?

You will learn to apply and tailor the seven PRINCE2 principles, seven practices and seven processes to real project scenarios, plus People management, sustainability and ESG, digital and data management, communication and tailoring, all aligned to the nine PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus areas.

Does the course cover the PRINCE2 7 People capability?

Yes. PRINCE2 7 introduced People as a core element, and the course covers leadership styles, team dynamics, conflict management and stakeholder engagement applied to project scenarios, alongside the principles, practices and processes.

Are there practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes scenario-based practice questions and mock exercises in the style of the Practitioner exam, so you can identify weak areas, rehearse open-book technique, and build confidence before you sit the real exam.

Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation knowledge or an accepted equivalent, as Practitioner builds on that base. You do not need years of experience, but the course is pitched at practising or aspiring project managers and assumes familiarity with PRINCE2 concepts.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PRINCE2 syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus and the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) manual, so you prepare against the exam content PeopleCert examines today.

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website or by speaking to a learning advisor. Choose your format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules and learning resources. See upcoming batches or ask an advisor about the next Liverpool cohort.
