The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across five performance domains, delivered via Pearson VUE.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). These weightings come from the PfMP Examination Content Outline, aligned to the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented portfolio experience and competency. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the PfMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our prep, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you build broad mastery across all five domains before you sit.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

Anyone can attend the training, and it is designed for senior professionals. To sit the PfMP exam, PMI requires substantial business and portfolio management experience, so the course helps you consolidate that experience and prepare for the exam and panel review.

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PfMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Portfolio Management overview, templates, flashcards, chapter-wise quizzes, mock exams and an exam simulator.

What are the PfMP eligibility requirements?

PMI offers three routes, all within the past 15 years: Set A needs a secondary diploma plus 120 months of business experience and 84 months of portfolio experience; Set B needs a bachelor's degree plus 120 and 48 months; Set C needs a GAC-accredited degree plus 120 and 36 months. All candidates also complete a panel review.

How do I enrol in the PfMP course?
