CAPM is PMI's entry-level project management credential. It proves you understand core project terminology, processes and delivery approaches. What is the CAPM certification and who is it for?

Is CAPM certification worth it in Kenya?

Yes. With Kenya's project pipeline growing across ICT, banking, development and infrastructure, CAPM helps you qualify for coordinator and junior project roles that pay around KSh 1.08M a year. It is also a credible first step toward the PMP as you gain experience. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need work experience to take CAPM?

No. CAPM is the only PMI credential that requires no project management work experience. You need a secondary degree, such as a high school certificate or global equivalent, plus 23 hours of project management education, which this training provides.

How long is the CAPM certification valid?

CAPM is valid for three years from the date of certification. To keep it active you retake and pass the CAPM exam within that cycle. Unlike the PMP, CAPM is not renewed by earning PDUs.

Is CAPM recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, CAPM is recognised by employers in over 200 countries. In Kenya it signals foundational project management knowledge and a commitment to the profession that employers value across sectors.

Pricing

How much does CAPM training cost in Kenya?

CAPM training fees in Kenya are available on request and vary by format, such as live online or classroom. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the CAPM course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 24 contact hours that meet the education requirement, practice questions, mock exams, exam application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the CAPM exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. PMI membership reduces the exam fee and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The CAPM exam covers four domains from the 2023 exam content outline: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%), and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%).

How many questions are on the CAPM exam and how long is it?

The CAPM exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and lasts three hours (180 minutes). It is closed book and based on the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023.

Is there a fixed passing score for CAPM?

No. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported against the four CAPM domains, so aim for broad mastery across all of them rather than a single target number.

Where can I take the CAPM exam in Kenya?

You can sit the CAPM exam through Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal after your application is approved.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. A re-examination fee applies to the second and third attempts. Our trainers and practice resources are designed to help you prepare for a confident first attempt.

Can a complete beginner take this CAPM course?

Yes. CAPM is an entry-level credential and this course assumes no prior project management experience. It builds the fundamentals step by step, so beginners, graduates and career changers can follow along and prepare for the exam.

What topics are covered in the CAPM training?

The training covers the four CAPM domains: project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based methodologies, agile and hybrid frameworks, and business analysis frameworks, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide.

How many training hours does the course provide?

The programme provides 24 contact hours of instructor-led training, which exceeds and fully satisfies PMI's 23-hour project management education requirement for CAPM eligibility.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The course includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 150-question CAPM format, plus quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest CAPM syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023 and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, covering predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.
