Assessment

Is there a test at the end of the DFSS course?

No. This is a practical skills course with no test. Learning is reinforced through hands-on DFSS tool exercises, case studies and team discussion across the one-day programme, so you leave able to apply the methodology at work.

Do I get a credential after the training?

There is no formal credential. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning, and the DFSS skills you build apply immediately to design and new product development work.

How is my learning reinforced during the programme?

Through applied exercises rather than a test: you complete a VOC to CTQ flow-down, build a QFD House of Quality, run a Pugh concept selection and a Design FMEA on realistic design scenarios.

How long is the Design for Six Sigma training?

The programme runs for one day, around eight hours, covering all six DMADV modules with hands-on exercises throughout. It can also be delivered as two half-days totalling the same eight hours.

Which methodology and tools does the course follow?

The course follows the DMADV roadmap: Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. It covers VOC, the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, QFD, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA, P-diagrams and Taguchi robust design, DOE awareness, and design verification and transfer.

What will I learn in the Design for Six Sigma course?

You will learn to apply the DMADV roadmap end to end: capturing voice of the customer, translating it into CTQs, building a QFD House of Quality, selecting concepts, running a Design FMEA, designing for robustness and verifying the design before transfer.

What design tools are covered in the training?

The training covers VOC capture and the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment, the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA and RPN, P-diagrams and Taguchi robust design, DOE awareness, tolerancing and design verification and validation.

Are there hands-on exercises in the programme?

Yes. Hands-on tool exercises run throughout the day, applying VOC to CTQ flow-down, QFD, the Pugh matrix and Design FMEA to realistic product and process design scenarios so you can use the tools straight away.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The course has no formal prerequisites and introduces all DFSS-specific tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles, so beginners and experienced Six Sigma practitioners alike can follow it.
