Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

CSPO, the Certified Scrum Product Owner credential, is a Scrum Alliance certification that prepares you to own product value on a Scrum team. It suits product managers, business analysts, project leads, founders and anyone moving into the Product Owner role.

    General

What is the CSPO certification and who is it for?

CSPO, the Certified Scrum Product Owner credential, is a Scrum Alliance certification that prepares you to own product value on a Scrum team. It suits product managers, business analysts, project leads, founders and anyone moving into the Product Owner role.

Is CSPO worth it for product professionals in the Netherlands?

Yes. With 3,200+ product owner vacancies open in the Netherlands and average Product Owner pay around €65,000, a recognised Scrum Alliance credential helps you stand out to Dutch employers in banking, e-commerce and high-tech and supports stronger salary negotiations.

Do I need prior experience to take CSPO?

No formal education or work experience is required. CSPO is an entry to intermediate credential, suitable for those new to product ownership or formalising existing experience in the role.

How is CSPO different from a Scrum Master certification?

CSPO teaches the Scrum framework from the Product Owner's perspective: product vision, backlog management and value. A Scrum Master credential focuses on facilitating the team and process. Many professionals hold both to round out their Scrum knowledge.

How long is the CSPO certification valid?

CSPO is valid for two years. You renew it by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee within each two-year cycle.

    Pricing

How much does CSPO training cost in the Netherlands?

CSPO training fees vary by format and provider, so pricing is available on request. The fee typically covers instructor-led sessions, courseware, learner support and the two-year Scrum Alliance membership awarded with the credential. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the CSPO course fee?

The fee usually includes live instructor-led training, Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, exercises and practice activities, learner support, the CSPO credential on completion and a two-year Scrum Alliance membership with a digital badge.

Is the Scrum Alliance membership fee included?

Yes. A two-year Scrum Alliance membership is included when you complete the approved CSPO course. Renewal after two years requires 16 SEUs and a membership renewal fee paid to Scrum Alliance.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for teams?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for product and agile teams across the Netherlands. Contact us for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Certification

How do I become CSPO certified?

You become CSPO certified by completing an approved two-day course delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer. There is no exam; the credential is awarded directly by Scrum Alliance once you finish the course.

Is there an exam for the CSPO certification?

No. The CSPO certification has no examination. Certification is awarded on successful completion of the approved course, then activated when you accept the Scrum Alliance licence agreement and code of ethics.

    Who awards the CSPO credential?

Scrum Alliance awards the CSPO credential. After your course, the certification appears in your Scrum Alliance member account, along with a two-year membership and a digital badge you can share with employers.

How do I maintain my CSPO certification?

Renew CSPO every two years by earning 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) through training, events, coaching or self-study, and by paying the Scrum Alliance membership renewal fee.

What can I do after earning CSPO?

CSPO is the first step in the Scrum Alliance Product Owner track. You can progress to Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) and then Certified Scrum Professional - Product Owner (CSP-PO) as you gain experience.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the CSPO course?

You will learn the Scrum framework from the Product Owner's perspective, including product vision, the Product Goal, Product Backlog management, stakeholder collaboration, value maximisation and release planning, all aligned to the current Scrum Guide.

Is the course suitable for beginners?

Yes. CSPO is an entry to intermediate course with no prerequisites. Trainers use practical exercises and real product scenarios, so beginners and experienced professionals both gain confidence in the Product Owner role.

How long is the CSPO training?

CSPO courses are typically delivered over two days in live virtual or classroom format. Both formats qualify for the credential; self-study alone does not.

    Who delivers the CSPO training?

An approved CSPO course is delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), which ensures the content meets Scrum Alliance's CSPO learning objectives and the current Scrum Guide.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, exercises, real-world product examples and reference resources to support your learning during and after the course.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?
