Why Dutch Employers Need Certified Project Leaders

    Public Sector Method Standard

PRINCE2 is embedded across Dutch and wider EU government and semi-government projects, so agencies and their suppliers routinely expect certified project managers who can work within the method.

PRINCE2 aligns you to Dutch public sector delivery

    Transformation at Scale

Dutch banks, insurers and enterprises are running major digital transformation programmes, and weak governance leads to overruns that structured, PRINCE2-led project managers are hired to prevent.

PRINCE2 builds governance for large programmes

    Certified Talent Shortage

With project management among the most in-demand roles in 2026 and open vacancies outpacing qualified supply, professionals holding a recognised project credential are increasingly sought after.

PRINCE2 makes your profile stand out

    Hybrid and Agile Delivery

Many Dutch teams blend agile and traditional delivery, and PRINCE2 7 tailoring lets project managers apply structured governance across hybrid environments without slowing delivery down.

PRINCE2 7 supports tailoring for agile teams

    Value and Cost Discipline

Under budget scrutiny, organisations need projects that stay justified throughout. PRINCE2's continued business justification and stage control help stop low-value work early and protect return on investment.

PRINCE2 builds continued business justification skills

    Sustainability and ESG Pressure

Dutch reporting and ESG expectations are rising, and PRINCE2 7 brings sustainability into the business case and plans, helping project managers align delivery with environmental and social goals.

Skills You Will Master in This ProgrammeFrom Principles to Real Project Application

This PRINCE2 training builds method knowledge, applied delivery skills and readiness for both PeopleCert exams. By the end, you can plan, control and tailor projects using the PRINCE2 7 principles, practices and processes.

    PRINCE2 7 Principles in Practice

You will learn the seven PRINCE2 principles, from continued business justification to managing by exception and tailoring, and how they underpin every controlled project. This is the foundation for both the Foundation and Practitioner exams and for leading real projects with structure.

    The Seven Practices Applied

Work through the seven PRINCE2 practices: business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress, along with the management products each produces. You learn how to define, control and report on projects so delivery stays on track.

The Seven Processes End to End

Follow a project from Starting Up and Initiating through Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery, Managing a Stage Boundary and Closing a Project. You learn who does what at each step and how the processes connect across the lifecycle.

    People and Leadership Capability

Build the People skills that are new to PRINCE2 7: leadership styles, stakeholder engagement, team dynamics and change management. You learn to lead people, not just manage plans, reflecting the human side of successful delivery.

    Tailoring PRINCE2 to Real Projects

Learn to scale and adapt PRINCE2 to a project's size, complexity, risk and delivery approach, including hybrid and agile contexts. This Practitioner-level skill lets you apply the method sensibly rather than following it by rote.

    Exam Technique for Both Levels

Prepare for the closed-book Foundation exam and the open-book, scenario-based Practitioner exam with practice questions, mock exams and manual-navigation technique. You learn how to manage time and read questions to pass both with confidence.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a combined project management qualification from AXELOS, examined by PeopleCert. Foundation proves you understand the method, and Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects. Both are based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a combined project management qualification from AXELOS, examined by PeopleCert. Foundation proves you understand the method, and Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects. Both are based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023).

Who should take this PRINCE2 course in the Netherlands?

It suits aspiring and practising project managers, project coordinators, PMO staff and project team members. In the Netherlands, PRINCE2 is widely used across government, IT, banking and consulting, making it valuable for anyone working in or moving into project delivery.

Is PRINCE2 recognised in the Netherlands?

Yes. PRINCE2 is a globally recognised method, strong across the Netherlands, wider Europe and the Commonwealth. Over one million PRINCE2 certificates have been issued worldwide, and Dutch employers in the public and private sectors routinely value the credential.

Is the PRINCE2 certification worth it for my career?

Yes. PRINCE2 certified project managers in the Netherlands earn around EUR 66,000 on average, rising above EUR 84,000 at senior level. With project management among the top in-demand roles in 2026, the credential strengthens your profile and opens senior routes.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points, and Practitioner can be renewed by retaking the exam, completing CPD via a MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in the Netherlands?

Pricing for the combined Foundation and Practitioner programme varies by format and whether exam vouchers are bundled. Training and dual exam packages are quoted on request. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current pricing in your preferred format.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes official PRINCE2 7 aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam guidance for both levels and learner support. Exam vouchers may be bundled or purchased separately through PeopleCert. Confirm inclusions when you request a quote.

Are the exam fees included in the price?

Exam fees depend on your chosen package. PeopleCert bills exam pricing by region and channel, so some packages bundle the two exam vouchers while others quote them separately. Ask a learning advisor which option applies to your enrolment.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, delivery teams and departments across the Netherlands. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to see upcoming batches.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 60 minutes. It is closed book, with a pass mark of 60 percent (36 out of 60 correct). It tests knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 7 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, taken over 150 minutes. It is open book, with the PRINCE2 manual permitted, and the pass mark is 60 percent (42 out of 70 marks). It tests applying and tailoring PRINCE2 to scenarios.

What are the prerequisites for each exam?

PRINCE2 Foundation has no prerequisites and is open to all. Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. In the combined programme you sit Foundation first, then Practitioner.

Where and how do I sit the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online via their proctored system available 24/7 or at an authorised test centre. Exams are usually arranged as part of your training and dual exam package.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can resit the exam through PeopleCert. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and exam technique to prepare you for a first-time pass, and selected plans include retake support. Ask an advisor about the options in your package.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 training cover?

The programme covers the seven PRINCE2 7 principles, the seven practices (business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress), the seven processes, the new People capability, and tailoring, plus exam preparation for both levels.

What is new in PRINCE2 7 compared with PRINCE2 6?

PRINCE2 7 (2023) introduces People as a core capability, renames Themes to Practices, and integrates commercial management, sustainability and agile considerations. The training is aligned to this current 7th edition and its PeopleCert syllabus.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No prior experience is needed for Foundation, which is beginner friendly. The Practitioner level is designed for practising or aspiring project managers, and the training provides the structure and practice to support learners at both levels.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive official PRINCE2 7 aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, quizzes and guidance on navigating the manual for the open-book Practitioner exam, along with trainer support throughout the programme.

Will I get a certificate of completion?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Your official PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certifications and digital badges are issued by PeopleCert once you pass each exam.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PRINCE2 course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

What training formats are available in the Netherlands?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training and classroom sessions, plus customised corporate group training. This lets professionals across the Netherlands choose the format that fits their schedule and learning preference.

How soon can I start and take the exams?

New live virtual and classroom batches run regularly, so you can usually start soon after enrolling. The combined programme prepares you to sit both exams around the training, often the Foundation exam first and the Practitioner exam shortly after.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change to your enrolment.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment before you book.
