What Is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner Certification?A Complete Entry to Practitioner Pathway

The Business Analysis Foundation & Practitioner Certification Course (BA F&P) is a combined, two-level programme that takes you from core business analysis concepts to the applied techniques practising analysts use on live projects. Governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BCS BoK), it is one of the most recognised business analysis credentials across the Netherlands and Europe. This Business Analysis certification training in the Netherlands prepares you for two separate EXIN exams: the EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis, which validates knowledge across 14 topic areas, and the EXIN BCS Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice, which tests how you apply those techniques in realistic project scenarios. Both certifications are awarded for life, with no renewal or continuing education required. Whether you are moving into business analysis from IT, project delivery or a product role, or formalising years of hands-on experience, the programme builds the requirements, modelling, stakeholder and business-case skills that Dutch employers in banking, technology and consulting actively hire for. Start your journey with Invensis Learning and earn both credentials on a single, structured path.

Invensis Learning is an EXIN Accredited Training Provider in Netherlands, approved to deliver official Business Analysis training using EXIN-aligned courseware and the EXIN Business Analysis Certification Examination Content Outline(ECO).

It is a combined, two-level EXIN BCS credential. The Foundation Certificate validates business analysis knowledge across 14 topic areas, and the Practitioner Certificate tests the application of BA techniques in realistic project scenarios. Both are developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined, two-level EXIN BCS credential. The Foundation Certificate validates business analysis knowledge across 14 topic areas, and the Practitioner Certificate tests the application of BA techniques in realistic project scenarios. Both are developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

Is the business analysis certification worth it in the Netherlands?

Yes. Business analyst roles in the Netherlands average around EUR 80,500 and rise past EUR 90,000 for senior analysts, and banks, insurers, tech firms and consultancies actively hire certified analysts. The EXIN BCS credentials give you recognised proof of applied skill.

Who should take this business analysis training?

It suits aspiring analysts, IT and testing professionals moving into a BA role, project managers and product owners adding requirements skills, and practising analysts who want to formalise their knowledge with a recognised, BCS-quality-assured credential.

Which body governs the certification and standard?

The certification is governed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Both exams are aligned to the EXIN BCS Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BCS BoK).

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are awarded for life. Neither expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement.

    Pricing

What is included in the training fee?

The fee typically includes EXIN-aligned courseware, case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, trainer-led sessions and learner support. Exam voucher inclusion varies by package. Request a quote to see what applies to your enrolment.

How much does the business analysis course cost in the Netherlands?

Pricing depends on the format you choose, such as live virtual or corporate group training, and whether exam vouchers are bundled. Fees are available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs.

Is the exam fee part of the training price?

EXIN exam voucher inclusion depends on the package. Some options bundle both the Foundation and Practitioner vouchers, while others price them separately. Confirm with our team when you request a quote.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for change teams, IT departments and whole PMOs. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the two EXIN exams?

Both exams have 40 questions and last 60 minutes, closed book. The Foundation exam uses single-answer multiple-choice questions; the Practitioner exam uses scenario-based multiple-choice questions that require you to apply BA techniques.

What is the passing score for each exam?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 correct out of 40 questions. You must pass both the Foundation and the Practitioner exam to hold both credentials.

    Are there any prerequisites?

The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, which is why the combined programme is taken sequentially.

Where can I sit the EXIN exams?

You can take both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are typically arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the programme.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can resit an EXIN exam if needed. Our preparation, mock questions and trainer guidance are designed to help you pass on the first attempt. Verify the current resit policy and any fee with EXIN before rebooking.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

The Foundation level covers 14 topic areas, from investigation techniques and requirements engineering to business modelling and business cases. The Practitioner level covers seven applied topic areas assessed through project scenarios.

What will I learn to do?

You will learn to elicit and document requirements, prioritise with MoSCoW, model processes with BPMN, build use case and data models, analyse stakeholders, and construct a business case using techniques such as NPV, ROI and payback.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level assumes no prior business analysis knowledge, so beginners and career changers can start here. The Practitioner level then builds applied skill, with trainer support throughout to keep you on track.

Is the courseware aligned to the current specification?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, so you prepare against the standard the exams are built on.

    What practice materials are provided?

You receive EXIN-aligned courseware, industry case studies, and mock questions mapped to both the Foundation and Practitioner formats, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness before test day.
