Assessment

Is there an exam for Microsoft Project training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Microsoft Project exercises throughout the programme.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It confirms you have completed the Fundamentals or Advanced programme and the practical scheduling skills covered.

How are my skills assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build proficiency by working through realistic project scenarios in Microsoft Project alongside the trainer, so you practise each feature as you learn it.

Will this help me apply project management methods at work?

Yes. The skills map directly onto how PMP, PRINCE2 and APM practitioners deliver projects, giving you the software proficiency to build Gantt charts, manage the critical path, level resources and track Earned Value in practice.

Course Content

What will I learn in the Fundamentals level?

Fundamentals covers project setup and calendars, building a work breakdown structure, task dependencies and the critical path, creating and assigning resources, spotting over-allocation, setting baselines, tracking progress with the Tracking Gantt, and generating built-in reports.

What does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced covers task types and advanced scheduling, resource pools and levelling, cost management and Earned Value, custom fields, views and visual reports, master projects with cross-project links, what-if analysis with multiple baselines, and Microsoft 365 integration.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Both levels are taught with live exercises in Microsoft Project. You follow the trainer through each feature and build the plans yourself using realistic project scenarios, so you leave able to apply the skills immediately.

How long is each level?

Fundamentals is 2 days (16 hours total) and Advanced is 3 days (24 hours total). Both are available as full-day sessions or extended half-day formats; ask about current scheduling options.

Which version of Microsoft Project is used?

Training focuses on the desktop application, available as Microsoft Project Standard and Professional, with an overview of the cloud-based Project Online within Microsoft 365. Confirm the exact version used in your session when you enrol.
