Construction Challenges Fuelling PMI-CP Demand in Taipei

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Taiwan's mega-projects run on layered EPC and design-build contracts where variations and disputes are common. Employers need managers who can administer contracts and resolve claims, the largest PMI-CP domain.

PMI-CP builds contract and claims skills

    Semiconductor Fab Construction Surge

Fab and gigafab builds demand tight schedule, cost and interface control across thousands of work packages. Certified construction project leaders help keep these capital programmes on track.

PMI-CP builds scope and interface control

    Skilled Project Talent Shortage

An ageing workforce and semiconductor-driven competition for talent leave a gap in credentialed construction managers. PMI-CP marks holders as proven, construction-ready project leaders.

PMI-CP makes certified leaders stand out

    Metro and Infrastructure Coordination

The Taipei Circular Line, MRT extensions and the Danjiang Bridge require coordination across owners, designers and contractors, with governance at scale, all core PMI-CP competencies.

    PMI-CP builds governance and coordination

    Stakeholder and Community Pressure

Urban-renewal and transit works in dense Taipei must manage residents, regulators and utilities. Structured stakeholder engagement, 30% of the exam, is now a clear hiring priority.

    PMI-CP builds stakeholder engagement

    Governance and Compliance Demands

Public and private capital projects face rising scrutiny on reporting, safety and compliance. PMI-CP builds the governance frameworks employers expect on high-value construction.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to deliver construction projects across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

    General

    What is the PMI-CP certification?

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to deliver construction projects across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

Who should take PMI-CP training in Taipei?

PMI-CP suits construction project managers, site managers, owner's representatives, PMP holders working in construction, and consultants. It is ideal for professionals in Taipei delivering fab, metro, energy or building projects who want a construction-specific credential.

    Is PMP required before PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with PMP covering general project management and PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

    Is PMI-CP recognised in Taiwan?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP is recognised globally and across Taiwan, where employers such as CTCI, Continental Engineering, BES Engineering and metro authorities value construction-specific project management skill on large, complex programmes.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle. The 56 PDUs from the four mandatory prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

Is PMI-CP worth it for my construction career?

Yes. Construction Manager roles in Taiwan average around NT$1.95M a year, and senior construction PM and director bands reach higher. With a construction talent shortage in Taiwan, PMI-CP helps you stand out for senior roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Taipei?

PMI-CP training fees vary by format, such as live virtual, classroom or corporate group training. Pricing is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD, with member and non-member rates. PMI membership can reduce the exam fee and provide access to PMI resources. Confirm current fees on the PMI website before applying.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, guidance on the four mandatory modules and the exam application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PMI-CP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction and engineering teams, PMOs and project functions. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre. It is aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and a total time of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It uses single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and weights?

Per the PMI-CP ECO, the exam has four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting the centrality of contracts in construction.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

How many attempts do I get and what are the prerequisites?

You have up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility window. Before applying you must complete four mandatory self-paced modules and meet one of three experience and education sets, all grounded in the current PMI-CP handbook.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. It includes contract administration, claims, stakeholder engagement, scope, schedule, risk, quality and governance, plus exam strategy.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The programme delivers 32 contact hours of instructor-led training, which is close to but below PMI's 35 contact hours of project management education requirement. Check with our team on whether supplementary self-study is credited toward the 35-hour threshold.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-CP ECO and handbook, practice questions, mock exams, and guidance on completing the four mandatory modules and preparing the exam application.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness before test day.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PMI-CP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the latest PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, so you study to the standard the exam is built on.
