How many exams are there in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams. You sit and pass the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam. Both must be passed to hold both credentials. The combined programme prepares you for each in one structured course.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam. However, the scenario-based sections need analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep understanding of the models are both essential.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

Our training includes first-attempt guidance, mock exams and practice questions to prepare you thoroughly for both levels. If a re-sit is needed, we advise on the re-examination process. Ask a learning advisor about re-sit support included in your plan.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the training?

The course covers the five change management topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management, taught at Foundation level then applied at Practitioner level.

What change models and frameworks will I learn?

You learn a broad range of models including ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, the McKinsey 7-S Framework, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence domains and Cialdini's principles of influence.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock exams aligned to both the Foundation and Practitioner formats, plus case studies and knowledge checks, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness for both levels.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the CMBoK, the current Change Management Practitioner Guide, and the official Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi, so what you study matches what the exams assess.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Foundation has no prerequisites and starts from core concepts, so beginners are welcome. The training builds knowledge step by step before moving to applied Practitioner scenarios, with trainer support throughout.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website or by speaking with an advisor. Choose your format, complete enrolment, and you receive schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started in Cape Town.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions, focused one-to-one training, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

How long is the combined programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days varies with the daily schedule, such as an intensive full-day format or an extended part-day format across more days.

Do I need to take the Foundation before the Practitioner?

Yes. The Practitioner level requires Change Management Foundation certification or an accepted equivalent. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, so you complete Foundation first and then progress to Practitioner.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact our support team to arrange a change to your enrolment.
