AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner is a combined certification in structured agile project management based on the DSDM framework, owned by the Agile Business Consortium. Foundation validates your knowledge of the framework, and Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects.

    General

What is the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner certification?

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner is a combined certification in structured agile project management based on the DSDM framework, owned by the Agile Business Consortium. Foundation validates your knowledge of the framework, and Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real projects.

Who should take AgilePM training in Australia?

AgilePM suits project managers, business analysts, delivery leads, scrum masters and team members who want agile delivery inside a recognised governance structure. It is popular across Australian banking, government, technology and consulting, where auditable agile delivery is expected.

    Is AgilePM recognised in Australia?

Yes. AgilePM is a globally recognised agile project management framework used in over 150 countries and valued by Australian employers, including the Big Four banks, government agencies, telcos and consultancies that need agile delivery with governance.

Is AgilePM worth it for my career?

Yes. Certified agile project managers in Australia average around A$155,500, and demand runs from scrum master up to delivery lead, agile coach and programme manager. AgilePM proves you can deliver iteratively within project governance, a combination employers increasingly seek. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

What is the difference between Foundation and Practitioner?

Foundation covers the AgilePM framework at knowledge and comprehension level, while Practitioner tests your ability to apply and tailor it to project scenarios. The combined programme prepares you for both levels sequentially, Foundation first, then Practitioner.

What is included in the AgilePM course fee?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the AgilePM Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions with a 40-minute duration. It is closed book, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. It is delivered by online proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

What is the format of the AgilePM Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 4 scenario-based questions worth 15 marks each, 60 marks in total, over 2 hours. It is open book, with the AgilePM Handbook permitted, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 30 out of 60 marks.

What is the passing score for each AgilePM exam?

Both exams require 50% to pass. For Foundation that is 25 out of 50 questions correct, and for Practitioner that is 30 out of 60 marks. You must pass both to hold both credentials.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

Open book means the AgilePM Handbook is permitted during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario-based questions require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient handbook navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit the exam you did not pass. Our programme includes mock exams, practice questions and trainer guidance for both levels to help you prepare with confidence. Ask our team about re-sit options and support.

    Course Content

What topics does the AgilePM course cover?

The course covers the AgilePM philosophy and eight principles, the six-phase lifecycle and products, roles and responsibilities, MoSCoW prioritisation, timeboxing and quality, and planning, control and risk, taught at Foundation level and applied at Practitioner level.

Which standard is the course aligned to?

The course is aligned to the current edition of the AgilePM Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium, and to the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi. AgilePM is based on the DSDM framework, the original agile method created in 1994.

Do I need prior experience to take AgilePM?

No prior experience is required for Foundation, which is open to all. Practitioner requires AgilePM Foundation first. The combined programme is beginner-friendly and takes you through both levels with structured practice, so newcomers to agile can follow along.

What are the eight AgilePM principles?

They are: focus on the business need; deliver on time; collaborate; never compromise quality; build incrementally from firm foundations; develop iteratively; communicate continuously and clearly; and demonstrate control. The course shows how to apply each in practice.

What materials and practice resources are included?

You receive AgilePM-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, and mock exams with practice questions for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, plus trainer guidance to prepare you for both exams.

How do I enrol in AgilePM training in Australia?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format and schedule, complete payment, and you will receive access to courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

How long is the AgilePM programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered over 40 hours of training, typically as a five-day intensive or a part-time extended schedule. Foundation content is covered first, followed by Practitioner, with an exam at the end of each level.

    Are there prerequisites to enrol?

There are no prerequisites to enrol in the training. AgilePM Foundation has no formal entry requirements, and the Practitioner exam requires the Foundation certificate, which you earn during this combined programme.
