Assessment

Is there a test at the end of the training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no formal assessment. Your learning is reinforced through interactive discussion, real-world case examples and team exercises throughout the one-day programme.

Will I receive anything on completion?

Yes. After completing the programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It recognises that you have covered the Six Sigma awareness curriculum, though it is not a formal Six Sigma qualification.

Does this qualify me to lead Six Sigma projects?

No. Awareness training gives you the understanding to contribute to and support improvement projects. To lead DMAIC projects you would move on to Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt training.

How is learning reinforced without a test?

Through practical, hands-on discussion. You work through real Six Sigma examples, apply concepts such as DMAIC and CTQ to your own workplace, and take part in team exercises that make the ideas stick.

What can I do at work after the training?

You will be able to use Six Sigma vocabulary confidently, understand the five DMAIC phases, recognise the roles on a project, and support improvement activities and data collection from your very first project.

What topics does the Six Sigma course cover?

The training covers the history and philosophy of Six Sigma, key concepts and terminology, the DMAIC method, Six Sigma roles, an awareness-level look at core tools, and Lean Six Sigma. It is delivered across six structured modules in one day.

What is DMAIC and will I learn it?

DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control, the five-phase Six Sigma roadmap for improving existing processes. Yes, you gain a clear, awareness-level understanding of what happens in each phase and why.

Which Six Sigma tools are introduced?

You are introduced, at awareness level, to tools such as SIPOC, the Fishbone diagram, Pareto charts, control charts, process capability and measurement system analysis, so you understand what practitioners use and why during a project.

Is this training based on a recognised methodology?

Yes. The course is grounded in the established Six Sigma methodology developed at Motorola and popularised by GE, including the DMAIC approach and the goal of fewer than 3.4 defects per million opportunities. Lean Six Sigma is also covered.

Do I need statistical knowledge to follow it?

No. Concepts such as variation, DPMO and hypothesis testing are explained at awareness level in plain language. The course is designed for a general audience with no assumed statistical background.
