Who should take Primavera P6 training in China?

It is ideal for anyone moving to P6 from Microsoft Project or spreadsheets, or working on EPC and Belt and Road projects.

Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

Take Fundamentals if you are new to Primavera P6 or want a solid scheduling foundation. Take Advanced if you already use P6 and want to master resource and cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger, multi-project management and custom reporting. Both can be taken independently or in sequence.

Is Primavera P6 worth learning for my career?

Yes. Primavera P6 is the scheduling tool specified on most major EPC, construction and infrastructure contracts, and skilled planners are scarce in China. The skills open project planner, scheduler and project controls roles across capital-intensive sectors and international projects.

Do I need prior experience to learn Primavera P6?

No prior P6 experience is needed for the Fundamentals level. Basic familiarity with project concepts and Windows applications helps but is not required. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on P6 experience.

Is there an exam for Primavera P6 training?

No. This is a practical, non-certification course with no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises using realistic project scenarios throughout the training.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. This confirms the training you completed; it is not an external certification, as Primavera P6 training does not have a formal awarding body or exam.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build proficiency through guided, hands-on P6 exercises where you create, schedule, resource-load, baseline and update projects, so you can apply the skills at work straight away.

Will I be able to use P6 at work after training?

Yes. The training is built around practical application. After Fundamentals you can build and control a schedule with the critical path and baselines; after Advanced you can cost-load, run earned value, compare schedules and manage multiple projects.

Does the course prepare me for real project scenarios?

Yes. Every module uses realistic construction and engineering scenarios, and corporate sessions can use your own project data. This helps you connect P6 features directly to the planning and controls work you do on capital projects.

Course Content

What will I learn in the Primavera P6 course?

You learn the enterprise project structure, activity creation, relationships and scheduling, resource assignment, baselines and progress tracking at Fundamentals level, then advanced scheduling, resource and cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger, multi-project management and custom reporting at Advanced level.

How long is each level of the training?

The Fundamentals level runs for 16 total training hours and the Advanced level for 24 total training hours. Both are available as full-day or extended half-day sessions, so you can choose a schedule that fits work commitments.

Does the course cover earned value and cost control?

Yes. The Advanced level covers resource and cost loading, cost accounts, the project S-curve and earned value management, including BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI, EAC and TCPI, plus variance analysis and reporting.

Are the exercises hands-on?

Yes. The training is delivered as instructor-led sessions with live P6 exercises throughout. You follow along in Primavera P6 as the trainer demonstrates each feature, building proficiency through practice rather than theory alone.

Does the training cover multi-project and enterprise features?

Yes. The Advanced level covers cross-project relationships, EPS-level portfolio views, enterprise resource management, project codes and an overview of P6 EPPM web features, so you can manage programmes and portfolios, not just single projects.
