What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, using the PRINCE2 manual, with 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks over 150 minutes. The pass mark is 60%, meaning 42 marks out of 70. It tests your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 to project scenarios.

What are the passing scores for both exams?

Both exams require 60% to pass. For Foundation that is 36 out of 60 questions correct, and for Practitioner that is 42 out of 70 marks. Both are delivered online with PeopleCert proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted during the Practitioner exam. You can refer to it, but time management matters because the scenario questions require analysis and judgement rather than simple look-up.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?
