Use cause and effect (fishbone) diagrams, Pareto analysis and an introduction to hypothesis testing to separate the vital few causes from the trivial many and understand patterns of variation in a process.
Put Lean thinking to work with 5S, value stream mapping, the seven wastes, Kanban and Poka-Yoke (mistake proofing), the practical tools that reduce waste and improve flow in everyday operations.
Understand how teams test and embed improvements, with an introduction to statistical process control, control charts and control plans that hold the gains once a process has been improved.
