What Is PMP and Why It Counts for Careers in KazakhstanUntitledThe Global Standard for Project Leaders

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the Project Management Institute's (PMI) flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. PMP certification training in Kazakhstan prepares you to lead and direct projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and to prove that competence to employers across the country and worldwide. The credential is built on the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the current PMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), which structures the exam into five performance domains covering project management fundamentals, predictive methodologies, agile frameworks, business analysis, and stakeholder engagement. About half of the exam reflects agile or hybrid ways of working, mirroring how delivery actually runs in today's organisations. As Kazakhstan diversifies beyond oil and gas into IT, banking, infrastructure and the Digital Qazaqstan agenda, employers in Astana and Almaty increasingly look for certified project leaders. Whether you are moving up from team lead, formalising years of delivery experience, or targeting senior roles, PMP is a clear, globally portable step. Start your PMP journey with Invensis Learning and train with PMI-aligned experts.

How to Get PMP Certified in KazakhstanStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMP certification path in Kazakhstan is designed for experienced project managers. You complete the required 35 contact hours, document your project leadership experience, apply to PMI, prepare with mocks and assessments, and schedule your exam through Pearson VUE. Once you pass, you join the global community of 1.2 million+ PMP-certified professionals.

    Step 1: Eligibility Check

Confirm you meet one of PMI's two pathways: a four-year degree with 36 months of project leadership experience, or a secondary degree with 60 months of experience. Both pathways require 35 hours of project management education.

    Step 2: Enroll

Select the learning format that best suits your schedule and goals, including online, instructor-led, and corporate PMP training for teams. Once enrolled, you gain access to courseware, schedules, and a structured study plan to earn the required 35 contact hours.

    Step 3: Attend Classes

Complete live instructor-led sessions or self-paced learning modules included in your PMP training course online or classroom-based program. Participate in case discussions and cover the PMP syllabus across the People, Process, and Business Environment domains, including predictive, agile, and hybrid project management approaches.

Step 4: Document Experience and Apply to PMI

Document your project leadership experience (36 or 60 months, depending on pathway) and submit your PMP application to PMI. Our team supports you with the application process and experience documentation.

    Step 5: Preparation

Use 1,500+ practice questions, 5 full-length PMP mock exams, 1 Agile model exam, flashcards, and the exam simulator to strengthen weak areas and build speed for the 180-question exam.

Step 6: Schedule and Take the Exam

Once your PMI application is approved, schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center or take it online, proctored. Take the 230-minute, 180-question PMP exam covering People, Process, and Business Environment.

Step 7: Pass and Get Certified

After passing, you receive your PMP credential and digital badge, valid for three years. Maintain certification with 60 PDUs across the three-year cycle (35 in Education, 25 in Giving Back).

    General

Is PMP certification worth it in Kazakhstan?

Yes. PMP is the global gold standard for project managers and is valued by Kazakh employers in oil and gas, IT, banking and infrastructure. PMP holders report notably higher pay than non-certified peers, often 17 to 33 percent more, and the credential opens senior project and PMO roles.

    What is the PMP certification?

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential, validating your ability to lead and direct projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It is built on the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and recognised in over 200 countries. Roughly half the exam reflects agile or hybrid delivery under the 8th edition.

Who should take the PMP certification?

PMP suits experienced project managers, team and functional leads moving into project roles, and delivery professionals in agile or hybrid environments. It is aimed at people who already lead projects and want a globally recognised credential to prove it.

Which standard is the PMP exam based on?

The exam is based on PMI's PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition. The ECO organises the exam into five performance domains covering fundamentals, predictive methods, agile frameworks, business analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

PMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Kazakhstan?

PMP training fees vary by format and are available on request. The training fee covers instruction and preparation resources; the PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware for the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, the 35 contact hours needed to apply, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance, learner support, and a course completion certificate. Exact inclusions depend on the plan you choose.

How much is the PMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam separately in USD, with member and non-member rates that vary by region (for reference, around USD 405 for members and USD 555 for non-members). Membership can lower the exam cost. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for delivery teams, PMOs and whole departments. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMP exam on the first try?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our mock exams and practice questions are designed to build readiness, and reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The PMP exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. It uses multiple question types, including multiple choice, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank.

What are the PMP exam domains?

The current exam, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, has five domains: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PMP exam?

You can sit the exam online via Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or the PMI portal within your eligibility period.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP exam?

Two paths apply: a four-year degree plus 36 months leading projects and 35 contact hours of project management education, or a secondary diploma plus 60 months leading projects and 35 contact hours. All applicants must complete the 35 contact hours.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take PMP training?

You can join the training to build knowledge and earn the 35 contact hours, but the PMP exam requires prior project experience (36 or 60 months depending on your education). If you are newer to the field, the CAPM certification may be a better first step.

What topics does the PMP training cover?

The training covers the five performance domains of the current ECO: project fundamentals, predictive plan-based methodologies, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategic management, and stakeholder engagement, all aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

Does the PMP course cover agile?

Yes. About half of the exam reflects agile or hybrid approaches, and the current outline includes a dedicated Agile Frameworks domain (27%). You learn Scrum, Kanban and Lean alongside predictive methods so you can tailor delivery to each project.

Does the course provide the 35 contact hours needed to apply?

Yes. The instructor-led programme is designed to deliver the project management education hours PMI requires for the exam application. Your course completion certificate documents these contact hours for your PMI application.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware for the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator, quizzes and templates, plus post-training support to reinforce learning and build exam readiness.

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

How do I apply for the PMP exam after training?

After training, create a PMI account, document your education and project experience, and submit your application. Once approved (and if not selected for audit), pay the exam fee and schedule via Pearson VUE. Our team can guide you through the process.
