Skills You Will Take Away from This Programme
Built Around the Four Exam Domains
You will learn how projects are planned, delivered, measured, and closed, across predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches. The 24-hour instructor-led programme is built around the four exam domains of the 2023 Examination Content Outline and the guidance in the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, so what you study is what the exam and the workplace both expect.
Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts
Skills covered in the CAPM start here. You will distinguish projects, programmes, and portfolios, work through project life cycles and delivery approaches, explain the roles of sponsor, manager, and team, and apply the PMI project management principles that underpin every other domain. This is the largest domain of the exam, at 36%.
Predictive Plan-Based Delivery
You will move a project through the five process groups, from initiating to closing, and manage scope with a work breakdown structure, schedule with critical path method, cost with estimation and budgeting, plus quality, resources, communications, risk, and procurement. This domain carries 17% of the exam.
Agile Frameworks and Methodologies
You will apply the Agile Manifesto in practice, run the Scrum roles, events, and artefacts, use Kanban boards and WIP limits, and work with backlogs, user stories, story points, velocity, and burndown charts. You will also recognise when a hybrid approach fits better than a pure one. This domain carries 20%.
Business Analysis Frameworks
You will elicit and document requirements through interviews, workshops, and prototyping, run needs assessments with gap and root cause analysis, maintain requirements traceability, and evaluate solution options against acceptance criteria. At 27% of the exam, this is a heavily weighted and highly employable skill set.
Performance Measurement and Reporting
You will work with baselines and earned value management terminology, including planned value, earned value, actual cost, schedule and cost variance, SPI, and CPI, then turn those numbers into status reports and dashboards that stakeholders can actually act on.
Exam Readiness for the 150-Question Paper
You will practise against questions written to the CAPM Examination Content Outline, learn how to pace 150 multiple-choice items across 3 hours, and get guidance on documenting your 23 hours of project management education for the PMI application.
