What Is Kanban and Why It Matters for Latvian TeamsUntitledA Visual Pull System for Real Workflows

Kanban Training in Latvia is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you to visualise work, limit work in progress and create pull-based flow across manufacturing and knowledge-work environments. Kanban is a visual signalling method that authorises production or the next task only when there is real downstream demand, so teams stop overproducing and start finishing. The method has two proven roots. Manufacturing Kanban began in the Toyota Production System, where Taiichi Ohno used it to make Just-in-Time (JIT) pull production work on the factory floor. Knowledge-work Kanban was later formalised by David J. Anderson for software, IT and service teams, and today sits alongside Scrum and SAFe as a recognised Agile approach. This training covers both, so a Riga plant supervisor and a Baltic delivery lead each leave able to apply it. Over eight hours you learn production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets and kanban sizing, then Kanban boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram. There is no exam; you build hands-on skills through design exercises and receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Start turning stalled, overloaded workflows into smooth, predictable delivery.

The On-The-Job Value of Learning KanbanVisible Work and Less Overload

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kanban training helps you move from firefighting a busy queue to running a calm, visible flow of work. You learn to see the whole workflow, cap what is in progress and pull new work only when there is capacity, whether that is parts on a line or tickets in a delivery team. Whether you manage a production cell in a Latvian plant, coordinate an IT service desk, or coach an Agile team, the skills transfer directly to your day-to-day work.

If you want to reduce lead times, cut waste and give stakeholders a realistic delivery picture, Kanban is one of the fastest skills to learn and apply. You leave able to design a system, set WIP limits and improve it from real flow data.

    • Design pull systems that cut overproduction, excess inventory and idle waiting
    • Build Kanban boards with WIP limits that stop overload and expose bottlenecks
    • Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput to make delivery predictable
    • Apply Scrumban to blend flow-based execution with your existing Agile way of working
    • Read a cumulative flow diagram to spot where work is stuck before it hurts delivery
    • Bring a practical, in-demand workflow skill to manufacturing, IT and service roles across Latvia
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group Kanban training gives teams a shared, visual language for managing work. Sessions can be delivered for a manufacturing group, an IT or delivery function, or a cross-functional team, using your own real workflows in the exercises. For organisations under pressure to deliver more with the same resources, Kanban offers a low-risk, evidence-based way to improve flow.

If teams are overloaded and delivery is unpredictable, Kanban creates transparency and control. Your people learn to limit work in progress, unblock flow and improve from data rather than opinion.

    • Standardise pull-based flow across production, IT and service teams
    • Reduce work in progress, inventory and context-switching waste organisation-wide
    • Give leaders reliable flow metrics for capacity and delivery decisions
    • Improve on-time delivery without asking teams to simply work harder
    • Tailor sessions to your own workflows, from factory lines to software backlogs
    • Build in-house capability to sustain and keep improving Kanban systems

Where Kanban Skills Lead in LatviaRoles, Demand and Earning Outlook

Kanban is a practical, cross-sector skill in Latvia, valued wherever teams manage a flow of work. In Riga's ICT export base and its banks and fintechs, Agile and delivery teams use Kanban boards, WIP limits and flow metrics to deliver predictably. In manufacturing, electronics, pharma and logistics, pull systems and JIT replenishment keep inventory low and lines moving. Roles that draw on these skills range from Scrum Master and delivery manager to operations, production and supply chain manager, and here is what the market is telling us right now.

Market Forces Making Kanban Skills Valuable in Latvia

    Overloaded, Multitasking Teams

Latvian delivery and service teams often carry more work than they can finish, so multitasking and context-switching slow everything down. WIP limits cap the load and get work flowing to done.

Kanban limits work in progress and restores focus

    Value Leakage in Delivery

Boards approve digital and product work, but weak visibility of the workflow causes delays and rework. Flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram expose where value is leaking.

Kanban builds flow metrics and predictability

    Overproduction and Excess Inventory

As Latvian manufacturing output grows, push scheduling ties up cash in inventory and hides defects. Manufacturing Kanban authorises production only on real demand, cutting overproduction.

    Kanban implements pull-based JIT replenishment

    Scarce Flow-Focused Talent

Employers want people who can run visual, flow-based systems, yet this capability is thin in the Baltic talent pool. Practical Kanban skills help professionals stand out and lead.

Kanban skills make delivery leaders stand out

    Pressure on Nearshore Delivery

Riga's nearshore and shared-service centres must deliver more with steady headcount. Kanban improves throughput and lead time by fixing flow, not by pushing teams harder.

    Kanban improves throughput without burnout

    Fragmented View of Work

Work spread across tools and inboxes leaves managers guessing at status and capacity. A Kanban board makes the full workflow visible so blockers and bottlenecks surface early.

The Kanban Skills You Will Put to WorkBoards, WIP Limits and Flow Metrics

This training turns Kanban theory into capability you can apply the next day. Through hands-on design exercises you learn to build pull systems and Kanban boards, measure flow and improve it, across both manufacturing and knowledge-work settings.

    Pull vs Push Thinking

Understand why push scheduling creates overproduction and how a Kanban signal authorises work only on real demand. You leave able to spot push waste and explain the pull principle that underpins Just-in-Time production and flow.

    Manufacturing Kanban System Design

Design production and withdrawal kanban loops, supermarkets and two-bin systems. You calculate kanban quantities and card numbers, apply the six Kanban rules, and size a pull system that caps inventory by design.

    Kanban Boards and WIP Limits

Build a knowledge-work Kanban board with columns, swimlanes, classes of service and a clear definition of done. You set WIP limits that stop overload, surface bottlenecks and keep work moving to completion.

    Flow Metrics and the CFD

Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law, and read a cumulative flow diagram to see where work accumulates. You use the data to target improvements rather than rely on opinion.

    Scrumban and Agile Fit

Combine Kanban with Scrum in Scrumban and place Kanban boards within a SAFe or Agile setup. You learn when flow-based execution complements iteration-based planning for delivery teams.

    Implementing and Sustaining Kanban

Apply the start with what you do now principle to roll out Kanban with low risk in a plant area or a delivery team. You plan cadences, manage demand and capacity, and prevent WIP-limit creep over time.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Kanban training is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you to visualise work, limit work in progress and create pull-based flow. It is for production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, IT and service managers, and anyone in Latvia responsible for how work moves through a system.

    General

What is Kanban training and who is it for?

Kanban training is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you to visualise work, limit work in progress and create pull-based flow. It is for production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, IT and service managers, and anyone in Latvia responsible for how work moves through a system.

Is Kanban worth learning in Latvia?

Yes. Kanban is a cross-sector skill valued in Latvia's ICT export base, banking and fintech, and in manufacturing, pharma and logistics. It helps teams cut waste, reduce lead times and deliver predictably, which supports roles from Scrum Master and delivery manager to operations and supply chain manager.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. The programme covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System, including production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets, sizing and JIT pull, and knowledge-work Kanban formalised by David J. Anderson, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and Scrumban.

Do I need prior Lean or Agile experience?

No. There are no prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations helps for the manufacturing modules, but the course introduces every Kanban concept from first principles, so beginners and experienced practitioners can both follow it.

    Who should attend Kanban training?

It suits production managers and Lean coordinators, manufacturing and industrial engineers, supply chain and materials managers, Agile coaches and Scrum Masters, IT and software delivery managers, and project and service delivery managers who need to manage flow in production, IT or service environments.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training cost in Latvia?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, whether you enrol individually or as a group, and the schedule. Fees are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for current pricing and an accurate quote for your needs in Latvia.

What is included in the training fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, structured courseware, hands-on Kanban design exercises, learner support and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Ask us for the exact inclusions for your chosen format. Request a quote to see what is covered.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for production teams, IT and delivery functions or cross-functional groups. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your team in Latvia.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is there a discount for enrolling a whole team?

Group and corporate rates are available and depend on team size and delivery format. For the best value when training several people, ask about corporate or group pricing when you request a quote.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for Kanban training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban design exercises, case examples and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. There is no external credential or awarding body, as the course focuses on building practical Kanban skills you can apply immediately in your workplace.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply concepts through design exercises such as kanban quantity calculation, loop design, Kanban board design and cumulative flow diagram interpretation, so you practise the skills during the session.

Will the skills expire or need renewal?

No. Because there is no certification, there is nothing to renew. The Kanban system-design skills you learn are immediately applicable and do not expire, and you can keep improving your systems using flow data over time.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to explain push versus pull, design manufacturing kanban loops and supermarkets, calculate kanban quantities, build Kanban boards with WIP limits and classes of service, measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, read a cumulative flow diagram and plan a Kanban rollout.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban course cover?

The one-day programme covers Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge-work Kanban boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

How long is the Kanban training?

The course runs for one day, totalling eight hours. It can be delivered as a full day or as two half-day sessions, with hands-on design exercises throughout so you practise each concept as you learn it.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You work through push versus pull identification, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design for a manufacturing scenario, Kanban board design for a software or IT scenario, WIP-limit setting and cumulative flow diagram interpretation.

Does the course cover Scrumban and flow metrics?

Yes. You learn Scrumban, which combines Kanban with Scrum, and how Kanban boards fit within SAFe and Agile setups. You also learn the three core flow metrics, Little's Law and how to build and read a cumulative flow diagram.

    Can beginners take this course?

Yes. The course has no prerequisites and introduces Kanban from first principles, so beginners are well supported. Experienced Lean or Agile practitioners still gain depth in system design, sizing and flow metrics.
