Do I need work experience to take CAPM?

What is the format of the CAPM exam?

The CAPM exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and a duration of three hours. It is closed book and is delivered through Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam is based on the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The exam covers four domains from the current CAPM ECO: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%), and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%). Content is aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide.

Is there a fixed passing score for the CAPM exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported across the four CAPM domains. The best approach is broad, balanced preparation over all four domains rather than targeting a single number.

How many attempts do I get and can I retake the exam?
