What Kanban Is and Why It Drives Faster DeliveryUntitledA Visual Pull System for Any Team

Kanban Training is a hands-on, one-day programme that teaches you to run work as a visual, pull-based system, starting or producing a task only when real downstream demand signals for it. Rooted in the Toyota Production System, where the Japanese word kanban means signboard or visual signal, it is the mechanism that makes Just-in-Time production practical on the factory floor and in knowledge work. For professionals across the Slovak Republic, Kanban is doubly relevant. It underpins Lean pull production in the country's automotive and electronics plants, and it powers Agile workflow management in its fast-growing IT and shared-service centres. You learn both the manufacturing system (production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets and sizing) and knowledge-work Kanban (boards, WIP limits and flow metrics) formalised for Agile teams by David J. Anderson. Whether you manage a production line, lead a Lean improvement, or run an Agile delivery team, this training gives you one method to make work visible, cut lead times and eliminate overproduction. Start building leaner, faster flow with Invensis Learning.

What You Gain from This TrainingFor Individuals and Teams

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kanban Training helps you turn a busy, overloaded workflow into a calm, visible flow of value. You learn to spot bottlenecks, limit overcommitment and pull work through the system at a sustainable pace, in a factory or a delivery team. Whether you are formalising pull production on a line, coordinating a Lean improvement, or leading an Agile team in IT or services, the training builds capability you can apply the very next day.

If you want a single, practical method to make work visible and cut lead times, Kanban is a clear step forward. You leave able to design, size, run and improve a Kanban system and back your decisions with real flow metrics.

The Flow Problems Slovak Employers Need Solved

    EV Transition Retooling

Slovakia's carmakers are re-engineering lines for electric vehicles, and every new layout needs fresh kanban loops, supermarkets and JIT pull to avoid costly overproduction.

Kanban builds pull production and JIT design skills

    New Capacity Coming Online

A major new vehicle plant near Kosice is adding thousands of jobs, and greenfield lines need people who can size and run manufacturing kanban from day one.

Kanban builds kanban sizing and setup skills

    Tightly Coupled JIT Supply Chains

As one of Europe's most car-dependent economies, Slovakia runs closely linked Tier 1 and Tier 2 supply chains where a weak kanban signal quickly starves or floods the line.

Kanban builds replenishment and signalling skills

    WIP Overload in IT Teams

Bratislava and Kosice delivery centres take on more work than they can finish at once. Kanban boards and WIP limits are how teams cut context-switching and lead time.

Kanban builds WIP limit and flow skills

    Scaling Shared-Service Operations

Growing business-service centres must standardise workflow across many queues, and Kanban gives service and support teams a visual way to manage and improve flow.

    Your Slovak Republic Flow Transformation

From Stuck Workflows to Smooth Flow

    Your Kanban Transformation

Slovakia's factories and delivery centres are under constant pressure to move work faster with less waste, and they increasingly separate people who can manage flow from those who cannot. Here is which side of that line Kanban puts you on.

    Today

Seen as a capable operator or developer, not a flow specialist

    After Kanban

Recognised as someone who can design pull systems and improve delivery

    Today

Limited to your current role and team, with few routes to move up

    After Kanban

Ready for Lean coordinator, delivery lead and operational excellence roles Slovak employers are filling

    Today

Pay tied to your current title with little added leverage to negotiate

    After Kanban

Production and delivery management roles in Slovakia average around 45,000 to 48,000 euro, and flow skills help you compete for them

    You Master Kanban

    Before

Work is pushed and assigned, with overload hidden until it is too late

    Now you have

A visual board where every task, blocker and WIP limit is out in the open

    Before

Teams start many things and finish few, so lead times keep drifting

    Now you have

A pull system that finishes work before starting more, cutting lead time

    Before

Improvement is based on opinion and gut feel rather than evidence

    Now you have

Flow metrics and a Cumulative Flow Diagram that show exactly where to act

    Before

You know Lean or Agile in theory but not how to run pull day to day

    Now you have

A repeatable method to design and sustain Kanban in a factory or IT setting

"The gap between doing the work and managing the flow of work is exactly what employers now pay for, and Kanban is how you cross it."

The Practical Skills You Will Walk Away WithKanban for Factory and Knowledge Work

This one-day programme builds hands-on Kanban capability for both manufacturing pull systems and Agile knowledge work. By the end you can design, size, run and improve a Kanban system and back your decisions with real flow metrics.

Push vs Pull and the Kanban Signal

Explain why overproduction is the worst waste and how a kanban signal authorises work only when real downstream demand pulls for it, whether on a line or in a team.

    Manufacturing Kanban System Design

Design production and withdrawal kanban, two-bin systems and supermarkets, and decide where pull loops belong in the value stream to keep flow steady.

    Kanban Sizing and Calculation

Calculate kanban quantities and the number of cards using daily demand, replenishment lead time and a safety factor, so inventory is capped by design.

    Kanban Boards and WIP Limits

Build a knowledge-work Kanban board with columns, swimlanes, classes of service and WIP limits that push teams to stop starting and start finishing.

    Flow Metrics and the CFD

Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to see where work accumulates and act on it.

    Implementing and Sustaining Kanban

Roll out Kanban with the start-with-what-you-do-now approach, run Kanban cadences, apply Scrumban with Scrum, and keep improving flow over time.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing work, where a task is started or produced only when real downstream demand signals for it. This one-day training covers both manufacturing Kanban (pull production, kanban cards, supermarkets and sizing) and Agile knowledge-work Kanban (boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram).

    General

What is Kanban and what does this training cover?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing work, where a task is started or produced only when real downstream demand signals for it. This one-day training covers both manufacturing Kanban (pull production, kanban cards, supermarkets and sizing) and Agile knowledge-work Kanban (boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram).

Is Kanban training worth it for my career in Slovakia?

Yes. Kanban skills are valued across Slovakia's automotive and electronics plants and its growing IT and shared-service centres in Bratislava and Kosice. Employers need people who can cut lead times, limit WIP and improve flow, making the skill useful for Lean, production, delivery and Agile roles alike.

Who should attend the Kanban training?

The training suits production managers, manufacturing and industrial engineers, supply chain and materials managers, Lean coordinators, Scrum Masters, Agile coaches, IT and software delivery managers, and anyone responsible for the flow of work. It works for both factory and knowledge-work settings.

Do I need prior Lean or Agile experience?

No. There are no prerequisites, and the course introduces every Kanban concept from first principles. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations helps for the manufacturing modules, but it is not required to benefit from the training.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. Kanban began in the Toyota Production System as a manufacturing pull system and was later adapted for knowledge work by David J. Anderson. The training covers both: production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets and JIT on one side, and Kanban boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and Scrumban on the other.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training cost in the Slovak Republic?

Pricing for Kanban training in the Slovak Republic is available on request, as it varies by delivery mode (live virtual, classroom or corporate onsite) and group size. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current pricing in euro for your preferred format.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, structured courseware, hands-on Kanban design exercises, real manufacturing and IT case examples, learner support, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Ask your advisor to confirm what is included in your chosen format.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate and group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for production, engineering, IT and service teams. It is ideal when you want a whole team to share one visual method for flow. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is there a discount for team enrolments?

Yes. Group and corporate enrolments qualify for volume-based pricing, and training a whole team together often works out more cost-effective than individual seats. Ask about corporate or group pricing when you request a quote.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Kanban training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no exam. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban system design exercises, real case examples and group discussion during the one-day programme rather than a formal test.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the one-day programme. This recognises that you completed the training; it is a skills course, not an externally awarded credential.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

Learning is assessed informally through practical exercises, such as kanban quantity calculation, pull-loop design and Kanban board design, plus group activities. These let you apply concepts to realistic scenarios and get trainer feedback, rather than sit a graded exam.

Is Kanban a certification or a skills course?

Kanban training here is a practical skills course, not a certification. There is no governing body, exam or formal credential. The focus is on building capability you can use immediately in manufacturing pull systems or Agile knowledge-work flow.

    How long is the training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours) and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions totalling the same 8 hours. It covers all the core Kanban modules with concept explanations, real-world examples and hands-on design exercises throughout.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban syllabus cover?

The syllabus covers Kanban origins and the push vs pull distinction, manufacturing kanban types and mechanics, kanban sizing and implementation, knowledge-work Kanban boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban across factory and service settings.

    What hands-on exercises are included?

Exercises run throughout the day and include a push vs pull identification activity, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design for a manufacturing scenario, Agile Kanban board design for a software or IT scenario, WIP limit setting, and Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation.

Will I learn how to size a manufacturing kanban system?

Yes. You learn to calculate kanban quantities and the number of cards using daily demand, replenishment lead time and a safety factor, and to design container sizes and supermarkets. This caps inventory by design and ties the system to takt time.

Does the course cover WIP limits and flow metrics?

Yes. You learn how to set and manage WIP limits, and how to measure lead time, cycle time and throughput. You also apply Little's Law and interpret a Cumulative Flow Diagram to find bottlenecks and improve flow using evidence.

What is Scrumban and is it included?

Scrumban blends the Scrum cadence and ceremonies with Kanban's visual workflow and WIP limits. It is covered in the implementation module, along with using Kanban boards within a Scrum sprint and applying Kanban in Scaled Agile settings.
