What Is Kanban and Why It Matters for Taiwan's TeamsUntitledA Visual System for Pull and Flow

Kanban is a visual, pull-based workflow management system that authorises work only when there is real downstream demand, cutting overproduction and improving flow. Kanban Training in Taiwan gives production, operations, supply chain and IT professionals the practical skills to design and run these systems across both manufacturing and knowledge work. The method traces back to the Toyota Production System, where Taiichi Ohno developed manufacturing kanban in the 1950s, and was later adapted for software and service teams by David J. Anderson. This is a hands-on, one-day (8-hour) programme with no exam and no governing body attached; the focus is capability you can use immediately, reinforced by design exercises and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. You will learn pull production, supermarkets and kanban sizing on the factory floor, plus Kanban boards, work in progress limits and flow metrics for IT, agile delivery and service teams in Taiwan's fast-moving industries. It suits anyone who manages how work moves through a production or service system.

What Is Driving Demand for Kanban Skills in Taiwan

    High-Mix Production Complexity

Taiwan's electronics and semiconductor lines run high-mix, high-volume production where push scheduling creates inventory pile-ups. Kanban pull systems and supermarkets keep material flowing to real demand.

Kanban builds pull system and sizing skills

    Smart Manufacturing Push

As science-park factories adopt Industry 4.0 and e-Kanban, teams need people who can design pull loops and read flow data, not just install tools. Kanban gives that grounding in visual, demand-driven flow.

Kanban connects flow with Industry 4.0

    Software Delivery Overload

With the software sector heading toward NT$1 trillion, delivery teams are handed more work than they can finish at once. Kanban boards and WIP limits stop the multitasking that stalls IT and agile teams.

Kanban builds WIP-limit and flow skills

    Digital Talent Shortage

Employers struggle to hire people who can improve delivery flow as digital transformation accelerates. Professionals who can visualise work, limit WIP and measure flow are scarce and sought-after.

    Kanban makes practitioners stand out

    Supply Chain and Capital Pressure

EMS makers and suppliers face margin and capital-efficiency pressure that rewards lean inventory. Kanban replenishment ties supplier delivery to actual production, freeing working capital.

    Kanban builds pull replenishment skills

    Predictability Gap in Delivery

Leaders want reliable delivery dates, but estimation often disappoints. Flow metrics, Little's Law and throughput forecasting give teams evidence-based, probabilistic delivery promises.

Kanban is a practical, immediately applicable skill that supports roles from process improvement and Scrum Master to operations and delivery management.

    Where does Kanban come from?

Manufacturing kanban was developed by Taiichi Ohno at Toyota in the 1950s as a pull production mechanism within the Toyota Production System. It was later adapted for software, IT and service teams by David J. Anderson, giving the Kanban boards, WIP limits and flow metrics used in agile delivery today.

Do I need prior Lean or Agile experience?

No. The programme introduces every Kanban concept from first principles. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations is helpful for the manufacturing modules, but it is not required. The training is designed to be accessible to both manufacturing and knowledge work professionals.

How long is the Kanban training?

The training is delivered as a one-day, 8-hour programme, also available as two half-days. It covers Kanban foundations, manufacturing pull systems, knowledge work boards, flow metrics and implementation, with hands-on design exercises throughout.

    Pricing

What is included in the Kanban course fee?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is there a discount for enrolling a whole team?

Yes. Training a team together is usually the most cost-effective option and gives everyone a shared way of working. Volume-based pricing applies for group and corporate enrolments. Request a group quote for your team.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Kanban training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban design exercises, case examples and team discussion during the programme rather than a formal test.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. No formal certification or credential is awarded by an external body, as Kanban training has no governing body or exam attached.

How is learning reinforced during the programme?

Through practical exercises: push versus pull identification, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design for a manufacturing scenario, Kanban board design for a software or IT scenario, WIP limit setting and Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation.

The syllabus spans Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge work boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban across both settings.

What will I learn about flow metrics?

You learn to measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law (Lead Time = WIP / Throughput), use lead-time percentiles and throughput for forecasting, and interpret a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot bottlenecks and track improvement.

Does the course explain WIP limits and Kanban boards?

Yes. You learn how to design Kanban boards with columns, swimlanes, classes of service and a Definition of Done, and how to set and adjust work in progress limits so teams finish work before starting new work and expose bottlenecks early.

    Is Scrumban included?

Yes. The programme covers Scrumban, which combines Kanban's visual workflow and WIP limits with Scrum's cadence and ceremonies, plus using team Kanban boards within scaled agile ways of working.

    What materials are provided?

Learners receive structured courseware, case examples and hands-on design exercises covering manufacturing and knowledge work Kanban, along with learner support throughout the programme.
