How to Get PMI-ACP Certified in TaiwanStep-by-Step Certification Process

The path to Online PMI-ACP certification follows a streamlined exam-based process. After completing the required training and obtaining PMI approval, candidates proceed directly to the certification examination administered through Pearson VUE. Unlike some senior PMI credentials, PMI-ACP does not require a peer-panel review. Most candidates complete the journey from training to certification within 6–10 weeks, depending on preparation time and application processing.

    Step 1: Confirm PMI-ACP Eligibility

Verify you meet the PMI-ACP eligibility requirements: a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's, or global equivalent); 2,000 hours (12 months) of general project experience within the last 5 years; at least 1,500 hours (8 months) of agile project experience within the last 3 years (in addition to the general project experience); and 21 contact hours in agile practices. The agile experience can be on the same projects as the general project experience.

Step 2: Enrol in the 3-Day PMI-ACP Training

Choose your preferred Invensis Learning PMI-ACP cohort (3-Day Live Online Bootcamp, E-Learning, or Corporate Group Training). Step 3: Register on the PMI Candidate Portal

Step 4: Submit the PMI-ACP Application to PMI

Submit your application via the PMI candidate portal: document your general and agile project experience and your agile-practices training, and pay the application/exam fee (~$435 PMI member or ~$495 non-member). PMI typically processes applications within 5-10 business days. No peer-panel review is required.

Step 5: Sit the 120-Question PMI-ACP Exam via Pearson VUE

Once approved, you receive a one-year exam eligibility window. Book your PMI-ACP exam through Pearson VUE , online proctored from your home or office in Taiwan, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam is 120 multiple-choice scenario questions over 180 minutes, covering all seven agile practitioner domains.

    General

Is the PMI-ACP worth it for professionals in Taiwan?

Yes. The PMI-ACP is a globally recognised agile credential that Taiwan's semiconductor, ICT and financial-services employers increasingly value as they scale agile delivery. Certified practitioners qualify for Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Coach and delivery lead roles, where local salaries range from around NT$1.25M to well above NT$2.6M a year.

What is the PMI-ACP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is PMI's agile credential that validates skill across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD. It suits project managers moving into agile, Scrum Masters, product owners, agile coaches and delivery leads who work in iterative, adaptive environments.

Is the PMI-ACP recognised in Taiwan?

Yes. PMI is a global professional body with members in over 200 countries, and the PMI-ACP is recognised by employers across Taiwan and worldwide, including semiconductor, ICT, e-commerce, fintech and consulting organisations that run agile delivery portfolios.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last 5 years, 1,500 hours of agile project experience within the last 3 years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. Holders of PMP or PgMP already meet the general project experience requirement.

How does the PMI-ACP differ from the PMP?

The PMP is a broader project management credential covering predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, while the PMI-ACP is agile-specific and spans multiple frameworks in depth. Many professionals hold both, using the PMI-ACP to prove agile breadth for adaptive and hybrid work.

How long is the PMI-ACP certification valid?

The PMI-ACP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in agile topics within each three-year cycle and report them through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) system.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-ACP course fee?

The training fee typically includes 24 contact hours of PMI-aligned instruction, courseware, practice questions and mock exams mapped to the Examination Content Outline, application guidance, and learner support with a completion certificate. Contact us for a quote for your preferred format.

How much does the PMI-ACP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD. For reference, it is around USD 435 for PMI members and USD 495 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and gives access to the Agile Practice Guide.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The PMI-ACP exam fee is paid directly to PMI and is not part of the training fee. Our training prepares you for the exam and satisfies the 21 contact hours PMI requires. Ask a learning advisor for a full breakdown.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PMI-ACP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for product, engineering and delivery teams across Taiwan. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that best suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMI-ACP exam the first time?

You have up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our practice questions, mock exams and domain-focused revision are designed to build readiness, and re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-ACP exam has 120 questions and a three-hour allotted time. It is closed book, with questions distributed across the seven agile domains defined in the Examination Content Outline.

What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

It is a closed-book, proctored exam with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions. You can sit it online through Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam in Taiwan?

You can take it online through Pearson VUE OnVUE remote proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website within your one-year eligibility window.

Which standard is the PMI-ACP exam based on?

The exam is based on PMI's Agile Certified Practitioner Examination Content Outline, published January 2018, and draws on the Agile Practice Guide and other recognised agile references. Our courseware is aligned to this current ECO.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take this PMI-ACP training?

What topics does the PMI-ACP training cover?

The training covers the seven agile domains: agile principles and mindset, value-driven delivery, stakeholder engagement, team performance, adaptive planning, problem detection and resolution, and continuous improvement, plus exam strategy and application support.

Which agile frameworks does the PMI-ACP cover?

The PMI-ACP spans multiple frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP), Test-Driven Development, Crystal and Feature-Driven Development. This cross-framework breadth is what sets it apart from single-framework credentials.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the Examination Content Outline, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Does the training satisfy the 21 contact hours requirement?
