Assessment

Is there an exam for the Azure DevOps course?

No. This is a non-certification, hands-on skills course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through practical Azure DevOps exercises throughout the one-day programme rather than a formal test.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning. There is no external credential awarded, but the practical skills you build are immediately applicable to CI/CD, infrastructure automation and containerised delivery on Azure.

How are the skills assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. You apply each skill through hands-on exercises, such as building a pipeline, writing a Bicep template and deploying to AKS, so you can confirm your understanding by doing the work.

Will I be able to build a real pipeline afterwards?

Yes. By the end you can create an Azure Repos repository with branch policies, write a YAML CI pipeline with build, test and artifact stages, add a deployment stage to Azure App Service or AKS, and set up monitoring and alerts.

Can beginners keep up with the hands-on work?

Yes. The course introduces each Azure DevOps service from a practitioner viewpoint and the trainer guides you through every exercise. Basic development or operations familiarity helps, but no advanced experience is needed to follow along.

Course Content

What topics are covered in the Azure DevOps syllabus?

The syllabus spans six modules: DevOps and the Azure DevOps ecosystem; Azure Repos and CI with Azure Pipelines; continuous delivery and release pipelines; Azure Boards and infrastructure as code; containers with ACR, AKS and Azure Monitor; and DevSecOps, Azure Test Plans and continuous improvement.

How long is the Azure DevOps training?

The course runs as a one-day, eight-hour programme covering all six modules with hands-on Azure exercises throughout. It can also be delivered as two half-days depending on the schedule that suits you or your team.

Do I need an Azure account before attending?

You should have access to an Azure subscription and an Azure DevOps organisation, both available on a free tier at dev.azure.com. Confirm when you enrol whether a shared training environment is provided or whether to bring your own account.

Does the course cover infrastructure as code and containers?

Yes. You learn infrastructure as code with ARM templates and Bicep, and containerised deployment with Docker, Azure Container Registry and Azure Kubernetes Service, including deployment from Azure Pipelines using kubectl and Helm.

Is security covered in the training?

Yes. A dedicated DevSecOps module covers Microsoft Defender for DevOps, secret and dependency scanning, Azure DevOps security and permissions, and Azure Key Vault integration with pipeline variable groups.

Can this be delivered onsite for my team?

Yes. Corporate onsite and live virtual group training is available for development, DevOps and cloud teams. Exercises can run on your own Azure environment for direct relevance. Ask about corporate training to arrange a session.
