What Is Design for Six Sigma and Why It MattersUntitledA Practical Route to First-Time Quality

The Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training in Azerbaijan is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you how to design new products, services and processes that meet customer requirements and reach Six Sigma quality levels from the very start. Unlike DMAIC, which fixes existing processes after defects appear, DFSS builds quality in before problems ever occur. Working through the DMADV roadmap (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify), you learn to capture the voice of the customer, translate it into measurable CTQs, build a Quality Function Deployment House of Quality, select concepts with the Pugh matrix, run a Design FMEA, and apply robust design and design verification. Every phase is reinforced with hands-on tool exercises on realistic design scenarios. For engineers and quality professionals in Azerbaijan's oil, gas, petrochemical, steel and manufacturing sectors, these are the design-quality skills that reduce rework, warranty cost and late redesign. Build them with Invensis Learning and start applying DFSS to your own projects straight away.

    Assessment

How is learning assessed on the DFSS course?

Learning is reinforced through hands-on DFSS tool exercises, case-study activities and team discussion throughout the one-day programme, rather than a formal test. You apply VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix and Design FMEA to realistic design scenarios as you learn.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the one-day programme. It recognises that you have covered the full DFSS methodology and design toolkit.

Does the course award a formal credential?

No. This is a practical, non-credential skills course. There is no awarding body; the focus is on building design-quality capability you can apply immediately at work, backed by a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to run a DMADV design project, capture and translate voice of the customer into CTQs, build a QFD House of Quality, use the Pugh matrix, conduct a Design FMEA, apply robust design, and plan design verification and validation.

How long is the Design for Six Sigma course?

The course is delivered in one day (eight hours), covering all six DFSS modules from the DMADV foundations through VOC, QFD, concept selection, Design FMEA, robust design and design verification, with hands-on tool exercises throughout.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the DFSS training?

The training covers the full DMADV roadmap: Define (project charter, VOC, Kano), Measure (CTQ flow-down, QFD), Analyse (concept generation, Pugh matrix, Design FMEA), Design (robust design, P-diagram, DFMA) and Verify (design verification and validation, design scorecard, design transfer).

What DFSS tools will I practise?

You practise the core DFSS tools on realistic scenarios: voice-of-the-customer to CTQ flow-down, a QFD House of Quality, the Pugh concept-selection matrix and a Design FMEA worksheet, plus robust-design thinking with the P-diagram.

Is the course hands-on or theory-based?

It is highly hands-on. Concepts are explained and then applied through tool exercises and case-study activities on realistic product and process design scenarios, so you leave able to use DFSS at work, not just describe it.

Does DFSS cover robust design and DOE?

Yes. The Design phase covers robust design philosophy, the P-diagram, Taguchi methods and the signal-to-noise ratio at awareness level, along with design tolerancing, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly, and awareness of Design of Experiments within DFSS.

How does DFSS relate to Lean Six Sigma?

DFSS is the design counterpart to DMAIC and complements Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt skills. Where those improve existing processes, DFSS designs new ones correctly from the start. It also pairs well with Minitab skills for statistical analysis.
