Is there a test or formal assessment for this course?

No. There is no formal test or assessment. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulations, team activities and group discussion throughout the day, so you practise applying the Kaizen method as you learn it.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. The training builds practical Kaizen facilitation and continuous improvement skills that you can apply in your workplace straight away.

Is any formal qualification awarded?

No formal qualification or credential is awarded, as Kaizen has no single awarding body. This is a practical, non-graded skills course focused on building real capability. You leave able to plan, run and sustain Kaizen events at work.

How long is the Kaizen training?

The course runs for one day, around eight hours in total, and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle, planning and running an event, Kaizen tools in practice, and sustaining improvements, with workshop simulations throughout.

Does the training expire or need renewal?

No. The skills you learn are immediately applicable and do not expire, and there is nothing to renew. You can keep applying the Kaizen method and build a pipeline of improvement events for your team or organisation.

Course Content

What topics does the Kaizen course cover?

The course covers six modules: the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle and thinking tools, planning a Kaizen event, running a Kaizen event, Kaizen tools in practice, and sustaining improvements. It moves from concept through to facilitating a full event.

What tools will I learn to use?

You learn the PDCA cycle, Gemba observation, the eight wastes, Muda, Mura and Muri, plus practical tools including 5S, standard work, spaghetti diagrams, time observation, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking actions.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on workshop simulations run throughout the day, so you plan and practise elements of a Kaizen event using realistic process scenarios. This applied approach helps you leave ready to facilitate improvement at work.

Does it cover both daily Kaizen and Kaizen events?

Yes. The course covers Kaizen as both a daily mindset, where everyone makes small improvements, and as a structured event, a focused team workshop for rapid process improvement. You learn how the two work together in high-performing organisations.

How does Kaizen relate to Lean and Six Sigma?

Kaizen is the engine of Lean transformation and drives waste elimination and flow improvement. It also supports Six Sigma, where Kaizen events are used in the Improve and Control phases of DMAIC. The course shows how Kaizen connects with these disciplines.
