What Is the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner Certification?UntitledAgile Delivery Under Real Governance

The AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner (AgilePM-F&P) certification is a structured route into agile project management, built on the DSDM framework and delivered as one combined programme that takes you through both levels end to end. It gives Swiss project professionals a recognised way to run agile projects with the governance that banking, pharma and public-sector work demands. Owned and published by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium, AgilePM aligns to the current edition of the AgilePM Handbook and the official Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi. You learn the eight guiding principles, the six-phase project lifecycle, the defined business, technical and management roles, MoSCoW prioritisation and timeboxing, then apply them to realistic scenarios at Practitioner level. The programme suits project managers adding an agile credential, PRINCE2 holders broadening their toolkit, and team members working in AgilePM environments across Zurich, Geneva and Basel. With agile transformation accelerating in Swiss financial services and life sciences, now is a strong time to certify. Start your AgilePM journey with Invensis Learning.

Why Swiss Employers Need Governed Agile Skills

    Banking Transformation at Scale

The UBS integration of Credit Suisse and wider digital-banking modernisation are among Europe's largest change programmes, demanding agile delivery that still meets FINMA governance and audit expectations.

AgilePM builds governed agile delivery skills

    Governed Agile in Regulated Sectors

Swiss finance, pharma and MedTech must combine iterative delivery with traceability and compliance. AgilePM adds the lifecycle, roles and control that pure Scrum on its own does not provide.

AgilePM adds lifecycle, roles and control

    Agile Adoption in Life Sciences

Pharmaceutical and MedTech firms are extending agile into drug-development and device programmes, where structured governance alongside iteration is essential for quality and certification.

    AgilePM suits quality-driven programmes

    Shortage of Certified Agile Leaders

Switzerland has many Scrum practitioners but far fewer credentialed agile project leaders. AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner helps holders stand out to employers hiring for governed delivery.

Hybrid Methods in the Public Sector

Swiss public bodies work with HERMES and hybrid agile approaches, creating demand for professionals who can blend agile delivery with formal project governance.

Pressure to Deliver Value on Time

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner is a combined agile project management certification based on the DSDM framework. It certifies you at two levels: Foundation for knowledge of the AgilePM framework, and Practitioner for applying and tailoring it to real projects. The framework is owned and published by the Agile Business Consortium.

    General

What is the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner certification?

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner is a combined agile project management certification based on the DSDM framework. It certifies you at two levels: Foundation for knowledge of the AgilePM framework, and Practitioner for applying and tailoring it to real projects. The framework is owned and published by the Agile Business Consortium.

Who should take AgilePM training in Switzerland?

AgilePM suits project managers, PRINCE2 and Scrum practitioners, business analysts, team leaders and anyone working in an agile delivery environment. In Switzerland it is especially valuable in banking, insurance, pharma and IT, where agile delivery must sit within clear governance.

Is AgilePM worth it and what is the ROI?

Yes. AgilePM certified professionals in Switzerland move into roles such as agile project manager and delivery lead, where agile project managers average around CHF 177,000 a year. The credential is recognised across 150-plus countries and complements PRINCE2 and Scrum. Talk to a learning advisor about your goals.

Who owns and publishes the AgilePM framework?

The AgilePM framework is owned and published by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium. It is based on DSDM, the original agile framework created in 1994, and aligns to the current edition of the AgilePM Handbook and the official exam syllabi.

Are there any prerequisites for AgilePM Foundation?

No. AgilePM Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to everyone, regardless of education or experience. To sit the Practitioner exam you must first hold AgilePM Foundation or an accepted equivalent.

How is AgilePM different from Scrum?

Scrum is a team-level delivery framework, while AgilePM is a project-level governance framework covering the full lifecycle from strategic alignment to benefit realisation. The two are complementary: AgilePM provides the governance wrapper around agile delivery teams.

    Pricing

How much does AgilePM training cost in Switzerland?

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner training is available on request, with fees varying by format and schedule. Instructor-led delivery includes courseware, mock exams and exam preparation for both levels. Request a quote for current Swiss pricing and upcoming batches.

What is included in the AgilePM course fee?

The training fee typically includes AgilePM-aligned courseware, case studies, mock exams for both levels, exam preparation and learner support. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are included when you enrol, as inclusions vary by package.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam voucher inclusion varies by package, so confirm this when you enrol. Some packages bundle the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers, while others price them separately. Ask a learning advisor for the details that apply to your enrolment.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams, PMOs and departments across Switzerland. Contact us for a tailored quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are in the AgilePM programme?

There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes, closed book, with a 50 per cent pass mark (25 out of 50). The Practitioner exam has 4 scenario-based questions worth 15 marks each over 2 hours, open book, with a 50 per cent pass mark (30 out of 60).

What is the format of the AgilePM Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice test of 50 single-answer questions to be completed in 40 minutes. You need 50 per cent, or 25 correct answers, to pass. It covers the AgilePM philosophy, principles, lifecycle, roles, MoSCoW and timeboxing.

What is the format of the AgilePM Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, with the AgilePM Handbook permitted. It has 4 scenario-based questions worth 15 marks each, 60 marks in total, over 2 hours. The pass mark is 50 per cent, or 30 out of 60, and questions require analysis and judgment rather than simple look-up.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

It means the AgilePM Handbook is allowed during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario questions test how well you apply and tailor the framework, so deep method knowledge and efficient handbook navigation both matter.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the exam. Our training includes mock exams and scenario practice for both levels to help you pass on the first attempt, and our team can guide you on rebooking. Confirm the current resit policy when you enrol.

Which standard are the AgilePM exams based on?

Both exams are based on the official AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi and the current edition of the AgilePM Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium. The programme is kept aligned to these current versions.

    Course Content

What topics does the AgilePM training cover?

The training covers the full AgilePM framework: the eight principles, the six-phase lifecycle and its products, the business, technical and management roles, MoSCoW prioritisation, timeboxing, and planning, control and risk. Foundation builds knowledge, and Practitioner applies it to scenarios.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No prior agile or project management experience is required for Foundation, which is open to all. The combined programme is beginner-friendly at Foundation level and then builds to applied Practitioner scenarios, with trainer support throughout.

How long is the AgilePM training?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme runs as a five-day, 40-hour course, typically with Foundation content first and Practitioner content after. Delivery can be scheduled as full days or extended part-day sessions to suit your availability.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive AgilePM-aligned courseware, industry case studies, mock exams and practice questions for both levels, and revision aids. Materials map to the official Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi.

    Are practice exams included?

Yes. The programme includes mock exams and scenario-based practice for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, helping you get familiar with the closed-book and open-book formats and build exam readiness.
