The Market Gaps PRINCE2 Agile Helps Japanese Employers Close

    Governance Meets Agile

Japanese enterprises run structured, PRINCE2-style governance while delivery teams adopt Scrum and Kanban, leaving a gap that PRINCE2 Agile is built to close.

PRINCE2 Agile bridges the governance and delivery layers

    Stalled Digital Transformation

Only around 30% of Japanese firms report DX success versus about 80% in the US and Germany, often because strategy and iterative delivery are poorly linked.

PRINCE2 Agile connects strategy to delivery

    Scarce Hybrid Talent

Japan has a deep pool of project managers but few professionals who can tailor agile within a controlled framework, making certified holders rare and sought after.

PRINCE2 Agile makes hybrid leaders stand out

    Pressure to Deliver Value Faster

Boards fund large transformation programmes but expect iterative, measurable value, the discipline PRINCE2 Agile teaches through MoSCoW and frequent delivery.

PRINCE2 Agile builds value-driven delivery skills

    Change-Management Shortage

Cross-functional change roles remain rare in Japan, so professionals who can lead governance-plus-agile delivery are increasingly in demand.

PRINCE2 Agile prepares you to lead hybrid change

    Public-Sector Modernisation

The Digital Agency and national DX policy are pushing government bodies to modernise, requiring controlled yet agile delivery capability at scale.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 Agile combines the PRINCE2 project governance framework with agile delivery methods such as Scrum and Kanban. It is designed for project managers, scrum masters, delivery leads and PRINCE2 Foundation holders who work in environments that use both structured governance and agile delivery.

    General

What is PRINCE2 Agile and who is it for?

PRINCE2 Agile combines the PRINCE2 project governance framework with agile delivery methods such as Scrum and Kanban. It is designed for project managers, scrum masters, delivery leads and PRINCE2 Foundation holders who work in environments that use both structured governance and agile delivery.

Why choose Invensis Learning for PRINCE2 Agile training in Japan?

Invensis Learning delivers AXELOS-aligned training with official PeopleCert courseware, experienced trainers and flexible formats. You get guidance across both the Foundation and Practitioner exams, helping you move from study to certified with a clear, supported path.

Is PRINCE2 Agile recognised in Japan?

Yes. PRINCE2 Agile is a globally recognised qualification published by AXELOS and PeopleCert and available in more than 200 countries. It is valued by IT services, consulting, BFSI and manufacturing employers in Japan that blend project governance with agile delivery.

How does PRINCE2 Agile differ from standard PRINCE2?

Standard PRINCE2 is a structured, predictive method. PRINCE2 Agile extends it with agile delivery guidance, so the PRINCE2 layer governs the project while teams deliver using Scrum, Kanban or Lean Startup. It adds the five targets for agile, the PRINCE2 Agile hexagon and MoSCoW prioritisation.

How long is the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certification valid?

PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner is valid for three years. You can renew it by retaking the Practitioner exam, completing CPD through a PeopleCert subscription, or passing a higher-level qualification. Confirm current renewal options at peoplecert.org.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 Agile training cost in Japan?

Pricing depends on your chosen format, such as live online, classroom or corporate group training, and is available on request. The PeopleCert exam fees are billed separately and are not part of the training fee. Request a quote for the option that suits you.

What is included in the PRINCE2 Agile course fee?

The training fee typically includes official PeopleCert-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, learning resources and learner support for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, plus a course completion certificate. Talk to a learning advisor for full details.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam fees are set and billed by PeopleCert and vary by region and delivery channel, so they are usually quoted separately from training. Confirm current Foundation and Practitioner exam pricing at peoplecert.org before you book.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for delivery teams, PMOs and transformation units. Ask about corporate pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that works best for you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 40 multiple-choice questions, lasts 60 minutes and is closed book. The pass mark is 60%, which is 24 correct answers out of 40. It tests knowledge and comprehension of PRINCE2 Agile.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 50 scenario-based questions, lasts 150 minutes and is open book, so the PRINCE2 Agile publication is permitted. The pass mark is 60%, which is 30 correct answers out of 50. It tests how you apply and tailor the method.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

You need PRINCE2 Agile Foundation, or PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent. Foundation itself has no prerequisites and is open to all. Verify current accepted equivalents at peoplecert.org.

How are the PRINCE2 Agile exams delivered in Japan?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either through OnVUE online proctoring available 24/7 or at authorised test centres. You sit two separate exams and must pass both to hold both credentials.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

Open book means the PRINCE2 Agile publication is permitted during the Practitioner exam. However, the questions require scenario analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient navigation and solid method knowledge are both needed.

What happens if I do not pass an exam first time?

You can resit the exam. PeopleCert sets the re-sit fees and policy for each level, so confirm the current terms at peoplecert.org. Our training, mock exams and practice questions are designed to build your readiness before you sit.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 Agile training cover?

The programme covers the nine Foundation topic areas, including the agile mindset, blending agile with PRINCE2, stakeholder engagement and risk and change, and the nine Practitioner areas on tailoring and applying the method, plus exam technique for both levels.

Do I need agile experience before enrolling?

No. PRINCE2 Agile Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners are welcome. Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban is helpful but not required. The training builds your knowledge from the mindset up to applying the method in real scenarios.

    Which agile frameworks are covered?

The training covers Scrum as the primary framework, along with Kanban, Lean Startup and Scrumban, and awareness of scaling approaches. You learn how each delivery method fits within the PRINCE2 governance framework.

Is the courseware aligned with the current syllabus?

Yes. The courseware follows the current edition of the PRINCE2 Agile publication and the latest Foundation and Practitioner syllabus published by PeopleCert, so what you study reflects what the exams assess.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive official PeopleCert-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, quizzes and reference materials for both levels. These help you identify weak areas and build readiness for the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PRINCE2 Agile course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions, self-paced e-learning and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

    How soon can I start?

New cohorts run regularly across live online and classroom formats, and self-paced learning lets you start right away. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the next batch that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
