    The exam has 150 scored questions, with up to 15 additional unscored pretest questions on some forms. You have four hours, or 240 minutes, to complete it, with extra time available for eligible candidates.

    What score do I need to pass the exam?

    You need a minimum of 580 points out of 750 to pass. The questions are spread across Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, so the best approach is broad mastery of the full body of knowledge.

    How is the Black Belt exam delivered?

    You can take the exam through an online proctored, web-based system available 24 hours a day, or at a Pearson VUE test center. Both options use the same closed-book, 150-question format.

    What is the exam application process?

    You purchase the exam voucher through the IASSC orders portal, choose your delivery mode of online on-demand or a Pearson VUE center, then schedule and sit the exam. An optional non-proctored evaluation exam lets you check readiness first.
