What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

The exam is a closed-book test of 150 multiple-choice questions, each worth one mark. A reference document with required formulas and tables is provided. Some forms include up to 15 additional unscored pretest questions.

How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

You have 4 hours (240 minutes) to complete the exam, with extra time available for non-native speakers or candidates with a disability. The passing score is a minimum of 580 points out of 750 points.

How and where can I take the exam?

You can sit the exam through the online proctored, web-based system available on demand, or at one of 8,000-plus Pearson VUE test centers across 165 countries, including locations near Minneapolis. The exam is delivered through PeopleCert.

What is the exam application process?
