Why QFD Skills Are in Demand Across Macedonia

    Automotive Supplier Boom

Skopje's automotive zones reached 94% occupancy as suppliers such as Aptiv, Adient and Lear scale up. Growth on this scale demands structured, customer-driven design planning that QFD provides.

    QFD builds customer-to-design translation skills

    EV Transition Raising Complexity

New projects in battery housing and high-voltage cable assembly add design complexity. The House of Quality helps teams weigh conflicting engineering targets before costly prototypes are built.

    QFD manages design trade-offs early

    Pharmaceutical Quality Pressure

As Alkaloid and other producers align with EU-GMP ahead of accession, patient and customer requirements must flow cleanly into product design, where QFD underpins Quality by Design.

    QFD supports Quality by Design

    Export Traceability Demands

Selling into European markets means proving that products meet customer and regulatory needs. QFD creates a documented audit trail from customer requirement to production control.

    QFD builds requirement traceability

    APQP and IATF 16949 Expectations

Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers must show customer requirement planning in APQP and IATF 16949 audits. QFD is a standard tool for demonstrating that design decisions are anchored to the customer.

    QFD strengthens design planning deliverables

    Scarce Customer-Driven Design Skills

Macedonia has a strong engineering base but few practitioners trained in structured VOC-to-design methods. Professionals fluent in QFD and the House of Quality are rare and sought-after.

QFD makes your capability stand out

QFD is more than a matrix. It is a practical way to design what customers actually need. Join the professionals across Macedonia who turn customer requirements into products that succeed. Start your journey today.

    Your Macedonia Skills Transformation

Where You Stand Now Versus After QFD Training,

    A Clear Before and After

Macedonia's manufacturers are scaling and exporting into demanding markets, and employers increasingly separate people who can design around the customer from those who cannot. Here is which side of that line these skills put you on.

    Today

Contributing to design reviews without a structured method to lead them

    After QFD

Recognised as the person who can run a House of Quality workshop end to end

    Today

Overlooked for roles that expect structured customer-driven design skills

    After QFD

Ready for quality, product design and continuous improvement roles that value QFD

    Today

Confident in delivery, but without a clear line from customer to specification

    After QFD

Fluent in cascading customer requirements from planning through to production

    You build QFD capability

    Before

Design decisions driven by intuition and individual opinion

    Now you have

A structured, repeatable method for turning customer needs into design specifications

    Before

Customer requirements lost in the handoff from marketing to engineering

    Now you have

The ability to build and interpret a full House of Quality with your team

    Before

Trade-offs discovered late through costly rework and warranty issues

    Now you have

Design conflicts surfaced and resolved early, before expensive prototypes

    Before

Design planning tied to one product or one way of working

    Now you have

A cross-industry skill valued in automotive, pharma, electronics and services

"The gap between building what engineers assume and designing what customers truly need is closing, and the teams that master that translation are the ones that win."

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) training is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you to translate the Voice of the Customer into engineering and design specifications using the House of Quality. It suits product designers, quality and process engineers, product managers, R&D professionals and Six Sigma practitioners across Macedonia.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment training and who is it for?

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) training is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you to translate the Voice of the Customer into engineering and design specifications using the House of Quality. It suits product designers, quality and process engineers, product managers, R&D professionals and Six Sigma practitioners across Macedonia.

Is QFD training worth it for professionals in Macedonia?

Yes. Macedonia's automotive supplier zones, pharmaceutical firms and food producers increasingly need people who can design around the customer and demonstrate requirement traceability for export markets. QFD gives you a repeatable, cross-industry skill you can apply the next working day.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, scores each relationship, exposes design conflicts in the correlation roof, benchmarks against competitors and sets engineering targets, all anchored to customer priorities.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. The course has no prerequisites and introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management is helpful but not required, so beginners and experienced professionals both benefit.

    Where did QFD come from?

QFD was developed in Japan in the late 1960s and early 1970s by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno, with the first formal application at Mitsubishi's Kobe Shipyard. It spread through the automotive industry and is now used across manufacturing, healthcare, software and services worldwide.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training cost in Macedonia?

Fees vary by delivery format (live online, classroom or corporate on-site) and group size. Pricing for public and corporate sessions is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote tailored to your needs.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, course materials and templates, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote to confirm exactly what your chosen format includes.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for design, quality and manufacturing teams. It is ideal for cross-functional groups who want to build a House of Quality together. Ask about corporate pricing for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and can arrange invoicing for corporate bookings. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that best suits an individual enrolment or a team programme.

Is QFD training a good investment for a team?

For manufacturers and product companies, yes. QFD reduces late design changes, shortens development time and improves customer satisfaction by aligning design work to real customer needs. Training a cross-functional team together multiplies that value. Ask about group pricing.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for this course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion, and you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

Assessment is practical, not formal. You build and interpret QFD matrices through guided exercises across the day, applying each concept as you learn it. By the end you can construct a full House of Quality and calculate engineering priorities.

Will I receive anything on completion?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning that recognises your participation and the QFD skills you built. There is no external credential, as this is a practical skills course.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to capture and structure the Voice of the Customer, build a complete House of Quality, calculate technical priorities, resolve design conflicts, and cascade QFD through parts, process and production planning, including within Design for Six Sigma projects.

Does the training map to Design for Six Sigma?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in the Design for Six Sigma (DMADV) Measure phase and in the DMAIC Define phase, where it translates the Voice of the Customer into critical-to-quality characteristics. The course covers these applications directly.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The programme covers QFD foundations and the business case, Voice of the Customer capture, full House of Quality construction across its six rooms, interpreting the matrix, four-phase QFD cascading, and applying QFD in Design for Six Sigma, DMAIC and service design.

How long is the QFD training?

The course is delivered as a one-day, eight-hour programme. It can also run as two extended half-day sessions. Hands-on House of Quality exercises run throughout so you practise the method as you learn it.

Are the House of Quality exercises hands-on?

Yes. You build a House of Quality from a realistic product or service scenario, including customer requirements, engineering characteristics, the relationship matrix, the correlation roof, benchmarking and engineering targets. In corporate sessions you can use one of your own products.

Does the course apply to services as well as products?

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers service, healthcare, financial services and software applications. The House of Quality works anywhere customer requirements must become design or delivery specifications.

    What materials will I receive?

You receive structured courseware covering all six QFD modules, House of Quality templates, worked examples and case studies. These support you during the training and act as reference tools when you apply QFD back at work.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the QFD course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete your booking, and you receive access to the schedule, courseware and joining details. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a format.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate on-site delivery, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule. Live online sessions let professionals across Macedonia join without travel.

    How soon can I start?

Public sessions run on a regular schedule, and corporate sessions are arranged around your team's availability. See upcoming schedules or contact a learning advisor to find the next convenient date.

Can you deliver the course on-site for our team?

Yes. Corporate on-site delivery is available for organisations that want to train a cross-functional team together. It is especially effective because your team can build a House of Quality for one of your real products during the exercises. Request corporate training to arrange it.

    What is the reschedule policy?

Rescheduling is handled per our published policy, and we aim to be flexible for both individual and corporate bookings. Contact our team to move your place to another convenient session.
