    The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions in a single-answer format, taken closed book over 40 minutes. The pass mark is 50 percent, meaning 25 correct answers out of 50. It is typically taken at the end of the Foundation training.

    What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

    The Practitioner exam is open book, using the Change Management Practitioner Guide. It has 5 scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. The pass mark is 50 percent, meaning 40 out of 80 marks.

    How many exams are in the programme?

    There are two separate exams. You sit and pass the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam. You must pass both to hold both credentials. The combined programme prepares you for each level in sequence.

    The exams are aligned to the current edition of the Change Management Practitioner Guide and the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute. The syllabus covers models including ADKAR, Kotter, Lewin, McKinsey 7-S, Bridges, Schein, Goleman and Cialdini.

    Course Content

    Can a beginner take this course?

    Yes. The programme is beginner friendly and has no prerequisites for the Foundation level. Foundation builds knowledge and comprehension from the ground up, before the Practitioner level develops applied, scenario-based skills, so newcomers to change management are well supported.

    What topics does the syllabus cover?

    The syllabus covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation covers them at awareness level and Practitioner at application and analysis level.

    Which change models will I learn?

    You will learn a broad range of individual and organisational change models, including ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, the McKinsey 7-S Framework, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence and Cialdini's principles of influence.

    How long is the training?

    Invensis Learning delivers the combined programme as 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days depends on the daily schedule, whether intensive full-day or extended half-day sessions. Foundation content is usually covered first, followed by Practitioner content.
