Is JIRA training worth it in Malta?

What are the two levels of the JIRA training?

The course is offered at two levels. Fundamentals (2 days) covers project creation, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced (3 days) covers workflow design, schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, automation, integrations and Jira administration.

Do I need prior Jira experience to attend?

No prior Jira experience is needed for the Fundamentals level; familiarity with basic Agile or project management concepts is helpful but not required. For the Advanced level you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience.

Which version of Jira does the training use?

The training is based on current Jira from Atlassian, primarily Jira Cloud, with hands-on exercises throughout. Concepts also apply to Jira Data Center, and the course covers Jira Software along with an overview of Jira Service Management and Jira Work Management.

What is included in the course fee?

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for software, QA and delivery teams. It is often the most cost-effective option when training several people. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

Do I need to pay separately for Jira software?

Jira is an Atlassian product and is separate from the training fee. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users that is suitable for hands-on practice. Check with your advisor whether a shared training environment is provided for your session.

Assessment

Is there an assessment at the end of the course?

This is a practical skills course with no formal examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout each level, so you build proficiency by doing rather than by sitting a test.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. On meeting the training requirements you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. It recognises that you have completed the Jira Fundamentals or Advanced programme and the hands-on practice it includes.

How will I know I have built real Jira skills?

Every module is delivered with live Jira exercises using realistic Agile delivery scenarios, so you practise each feature as you learn it. You leave able to set up and run boards, sprints, reports, workflows and automation on a live Jira instance.

Should I take the Fundamentals or the Advanced level?

Choose Fundamentals if you are new to Jira or use it occasionally and want confident everyday skills. Choose Advanced if you already use Jira and want to master workflows, schemes, automation, advanced JQL and administration. Both can be taken independently or in sequence.

What can I do at work after the training?

After Fundamentals you can create projects, manage issues, run Scrum and Kanban boards and generate Agile reports. After Advanced you can design workflows and schemes, build automation rules, write advanced JQL, connect Jira to your toolchain and administer an instance.

Does the course include hands-on practice?

Yes. Both levels are hands-on throughout. You follow along in a Jira environment while the trainer demonstrates each feature, then practise using realistic Agile software delivery scenarios so the skills transfer directly to your own team's work.

What will I learn about JQL and reporting?

You learn to build and save filters and write Jira Query Language (JQL) to find issues precisely, then interpret the core Agile reports, velocity, burndown, sprint and cumulative flow, and build dashboards and gadgets that surface delivery insight for teams and leaders.

Does the training cover Jira automation and integrations?

Yes, at the Advanced level. You learn Jira automation with triggers, conditions, actions and smart values, and how to connect Jira to Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end DevOps delivery tracking.

How long is each level and how is it delivered?

Fundamentals is 2 days (16 hours) and Advanced is 3 days (24 hours), available as full-day or extended half-day formats. Both are delivered live online (instructor-led), in classroom, or as onsite corporate training. Confirm current schedules with your advisor.
