Change Management Demand Drivers in the Netherlands

    Adoption Gap on Digital Programmes

Dutch organisations invest heavily in cloud, AI and automation, but value leaks when employees do not adopt new tools. Certified change practitioners close the gap between go-live and real use.

Certification builds adoption and change-practice skills

    Energy Transition and Sustainability Change

The push to net zero and grid modernisation is reshaping how energy and industrial firms work. These programmes need structured change management to shift behaviours and ways of working.

    Certification builds behaviour-change skills

    Regulatory and Compliance Pressure

Mandatory e-invoicing, GDPR and financial regulation force continual process change in banking and public bodies. Organisations need people who can embed compliant new practices quickly.

    Certification builds change-planning skills

    Change Fatigue and Resistance

Constant reorganisation leaves Dutch workforces stretched and sceptical. Practitioners who can manage resistance, communicate clearly and protect wellbeing are in high demand.

    Certification builds resistance-management skills

    Scarcity of Experienced Change Talent

The Netherlands has deep project talent but fewer credentialed change managers. A recognised Foundation and Practitioner qualification helps professionals stand out to employers.

    Certification helps practitioners stand out

Agile and Hybrid Ways of Working

Shifting to agile teams and hybrid models is as much cultural as structural. Employers want change leaders who can make new operating models stick, not just launch them.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a globally recognised, two-level qualification covering the models, tools and practices needed to manage the people side of organisational change. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real scenarios. It is aligned to the CMBoK and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide.

    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a globally recognised, two-level qualification covering the models, tools and practices needed to manage the people side of organisational change. Foundation validates your knowledge of change concepts, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real scenarios. It is aligned to the CMBoK and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide.

Who should take change management certification training?

The course suits project and programme managers, HR and OD practitioners, consultants, and leaders who sponsor or deliver change. In the Netherlands it is popular with professionals moving from project delivery into dedicated change and transformation roles.

Is change management certification worth it in the Netherlands?

Yes. Change Manager roles in the Netherlands average around EUR 90,000 per year, and demand is strong across banking, tech, energy and consulting as employers run large digital and sustainability programmes. A recognised credential helps you stand out in a market short of experienced change talent.

Do I need any experience to start at Foundation level?

No. The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of education or prior change experience. It is designed as an accessible entry point into the change management discipline.

    Is the qualification recognised internationally?

Yes. The Change Management qualification is recognised in over 150 countries and is well respected across the UK, Europe, Australia and other markets where change management is an established profession, so it travels with you across sectors and borders.

    Pricing

How much does the training cost in the Netherlands?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner training is quoted in euros and varies by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current fees and any upcoming batch offers.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training, CMBoK-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams, and dedicated learner support. Exam voucher inclusion is confirmed at the time of enrolment.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam voucher inclusion depends on the package you choose. Some bundles include the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers, while others are training only. Ask a learning advisor to confirm what your quote covers.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across the Netherlands. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam is closed book with 50 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes. The Practitioner exam is open book, with five scenario-based sections worth 16 marks each, over 2.5 hours. You must pass both to hold both credentials.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 single-answer multiple-choice questions, lasts 40 minutes, and is closed book. The pass mark is 50%, meaning 25 correct out of 50. It is delivered by online proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book and lasts 2.5 hours. It has five scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total. The pass mark is 50%, meaning 40 out of 80 marks. The Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the exam.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the Practitioner exam. The scenario-based sections still require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers. Deep method knowledge and efficient guide navigation both matter.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the relevant exam. Our training includes mock exams and first-attempt guidance to prepare you thoroughly, and selected plans include retake support. Confirm current resit fees and policy with your learning advisor.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

The course covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation builds knowledge, and Practitioner applies each area to real scenarios.

Which change models will I learn?

You will learn a broad set of models, including Bridges' Transition Model, ADKAR, Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, the McKinsey 7-S Framework, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence model and Cialdini's principles of influence.

Is the course aligned to the latest standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute and to the current Change Management Practitioner Guide, plus the official Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Foundation is beginner-friendly and needs no prior experience, and the training moves you step by step into the Practitioner level. Experienced trainers, case studies and practice questions support you throughout.

What materials and practice are included?

You receive CMBoK-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and full mock exams for both levels, plus open-book technique practice for the Practitioner exam. These help you find weak areas and build exam readiness.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

What training formats are available in the Netherlands?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training. This lets you choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

    How soon can I start?

New live virtual and corporate batches run regularly, so you can usually start within days. See upcoming schedules or ask a learning advisor about the next available cohort in your time zone.

    Can I reschedule my batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a Flexi Pass to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
