    Do I need prior experience or the Foundation certification?

    EXIN recommends Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge as a starting point, but it is generally not strictly enforced. There is no formal education or work-experience requirement to sit the ASM exam.

    How long is the ASM certification valid?

    The EXIN Agile Scrum Master certification is valid for life. There is no expiry, renewal, or continuing-education requirement once you pass.

    What is the format of the EXIN ASM exam?

    The EXIN Agile Scrum Master exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice exam with single-answer questions, based on the EXIN Agile Scrum Master Examination Specification and aligned to the Scrum Guide.

    How many questions are on the ASM exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and a duration of 90 minutes. It can be taken via EXIN online proctoring or at an accredited test location.

    What is the passing score for the ASM exam?

    You need 65% to pass, which is 26 of the 40 questions answered correctly.

    What topics does the ASM exam cover?

    It covers five areas: Agile Way of Thinking (20%), Scrum Master Role (25%), Agile Estimating, Planning, Monitoring and Control (27.5%), Complex Projects (12.5%) and Adopting Agile (15%).

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    You can re-sit the EXIN ASM exam by registering for another attempt. Our training includes mock exams and practice questions to help you prepare and pass with confidence.

    How is the exam delivered?

    The exam is delivered online with EXIN proctoring, or at an EXIN accredited testing location, so you can choose what is convenient for you.

    What will I learn in the Agile Scrum Master course?

    You will learn to apply the agile mindset, master the Scrum Master role, facilitate Scrum events, use agile estimation and planning, handle complex and scaled delivery, and support agile adoption across an organization.

    Can a beginner take this course?

    Yes. While Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge helps, the course builds your understanding step by step, so motivated beginners can follow along and prepare for the exam.

    How long is the training?

    The Agile Scrum Master training runs for around 16 hours, typically delivered over two days, and covers all five EXIN exam topic areas.
