    What are the two levels of the Jira course?

    There are two levels. Jira Fundamentals is a 2-day, 16-hour introduction for new or occasional users. Jira Advanced is a 3-day, 24-hour practitioner course covering workflows, schemes, automation, integrations and administration. You can take either level independently or in sequence.

    Who develops Jira?

    Jira is developed by Atlassian. It is the most widely used issue tracking and Agile delivery platform globally, supporting Scrum boards, Kanban boards, roadmaps, sprints, backlogs and custom workflows for software, IT and business teams.

    Do I need prior experience to join?

    For Fundamentals, no. It is designed for people new to Jira, and basic familiarity with web applications is enough. For Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience before attending.

    Is a Jira software licence included?

    Assessment

    How is learning reinforced during the course?

    Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises throughout both levels. You follow the trainer in a Jira environment and practise each feature using realistic Agile delivery scenarios, so you build proficiency by doing, not just watching.

    Do I receive a certificate after completing the course?

    Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning recognising the practical Jira skills you have built. This is a skills course focused on job-ready capability rather than a formal external credential.

    Will I get hands-on practice in Jira?

    Yes. Both Fundamentals and Advanced are built around live exercises in a Jira environment. You create projects, manage issues, run sprints and boards, and, at the Advanced level, configure workflows, schemes and automation as you learn.

    What will I be able to do after Fundamentals?

    After Fundamentals you can create and configure Scrum, Kanban and business projects, manage the full issue hierarchy, run sprints and Kanban boards, plan releases with versions, save JQL filters, and read Agile reports such as velocity, burndown and cumulative flow.

    What will I be able to do after Advanced?

    After Advanced you can design custom workflows with conditions and validators, apply permission, notification, screen and field schemes, write advanced JQL, build dashboards, create automation rules, connect Jira to DevOps tools, and administer a Jira instance.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

    Fundamentals covers navigating Jira, creating projects, managing issues, running Scrum boards and sprints, using the Kanban board with WIP limits, roadmaps and versions, and finding and reporting on work with filters, basic JQL and Agile reports.

    What topics does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced covers workflow design, permission, notification, screen and field configuration schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD tools, and Jira administration and governance.

    Which Jira boards and reports will I learn?

    You learn both the Scrum board, for sprint-based delivery, and the Kanban board, for continuous flow. On the reporting side you cover the Velocity Chart, Sprint Report, Burndown Chart and Cumulative Flow Diagram, plus custom dashboards at the Advanced level.

    Is the course based on Jira Cloud or Data Center?

    The course teaches skills that apply to both Jira Cloud and Jira Data Center, using live exercises that reflect real deployments. Cloud is the primary delivery model today. Confirm which environment is used for hands-on practice when you enrol.

    Does the course cover Jira automation and integrations?

    Yes, at the Advanced level. You build no-code automation rules using triggers, conditions, actions and smart values, and connect Jira to Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end DevOps delivery tracking.
