The PMI-CP is the Project Management Institute's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills across construction projects, spanning four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) certification?

The PMI-CP is the Project Management Institute's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills across construction projects, spanning four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Little Rock?

Yes. With a $6 billion data center, over $500 million in new city investment and major healthcare and industrial projects underway, Little Rock employers increasingly seek construction-specific PM skills. The PMI-CP proves that expertise and supports senior roles that pay well above entry level.

Who should take PMI-CP certification training?

The PMI-CP suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers moving into PM, program managers, owner's representatives and construction consultants. It is built for experienced practitioners who want a globally recognized, construction-specific PMI credential.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area.

Is the PMP required before taking the PMI-CP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary, and many construction professionals hold both.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-CP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, scenario-based exercises, guidance on the four mandatory modules and the exam application, learner support and a course completion certificate. Request a quote for full inclusions.

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Little Rock?

Training pricing varies by format, such as live virtual, classroom or corporate group delivery. Contact a learning advisor for current pricing and upcoming batches in Little Rock, and ask about group rates for teams.

How much is the PMI-CP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can lower the exam cost. The four required modules are purchased through PMI as well.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customized schedules and volume-based pricing for construction teams, PMOs and field leadership. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer installment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center, and is based on the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). Results are reported with domain-level performance feedback such as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and weights?

There are four domains per the official ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting the centrality of contracts in construction.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed number. Focus on broad mastery across all four domains rather than a single percentage target.

What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to build your readiness before you sit.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers all four ECO domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance, plus exam strategy and guidance on the four mandatory modules. You practice with construction-based scenarios throughout.

Do I need to complete the four PMI-CP modules?

Yes. PMI requires all four self-paced modules, Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management, before you apply. Each awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total, and our program guides you through them.

Which standard and outline is the training based on?

The training is built around the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and aligned to the latest PMBOK Guide and construction industry practices, so your preparation matches what PMI tests.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led program provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of PM education PMI requires. Ask our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The program includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 120-question, 230-minute format, plus scenario exercises that help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

You must complete the four mandatory modules and meet one of three sets: Set A (high school diploma plus 60 months construction PM experience), Set B (bachelor's degree plus 36 months), or Set C (GAC-accredited degree plus 24 months). All sets require 35 contact hours of PM education.
