What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice exam based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions across four construction project management domains.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and a duration of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), per the official PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.
