The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and a total time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. It is a closed-book test using single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice question formats.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and weights?

The exam covers four domains from the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts management is by far the largest and most heavily tested area.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system or at a Pearson VUE test center. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website within your one-year eligibility window.

How many attempts do I get, and what if I fail?

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four ECO domains: contracts management, stakeholder engagement, strategy and scope management, and project governance. It spans contract types and delivery methods, contract administration, claims, change control, risk, insurance and governance.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, all candidates complete four self-paced PMI-CP modules: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hour requirement?

PMI-CP requires 35 contact hours of project management education. Our instructor-led program provides contact hours toward that requirement; where the format runs to 32 hours, we can advise on supplementary self-study to reach the full 35 hours. Ask an advisor for details.
