Skills You Will Build as a Product OwnerFrom Product Vision to Value Delivery

The CSPO course gives you the practical product ownership skills that Scrum teams rely on. By the end of the two days you can define a product vision, manage and order the Product Backlog, and work with stakeholders to maximise the value your team delivers.

Apply the Scrum Framework as a Product Owner

Skills covered in CSPO start with the empirical foundations of Scrum: transparency, inspection and adaptation, the three accountabilities, and how the Scrum values shape product decisions from the Product Owner's perspective.

Own Product Vision and the Product Goal

Craft a compelling product vision, define the Product Goal as the Product Backlog commitment, and build a roadmap that connects long-term strategy to the work planned in each sprint.

Build and Order the Product Backlog

Write effective user stories with INVEST and clear acceptance criteria, run ongoing refinement, and order the backlog by value, risk and dependencies using techniques such as MoSCoW and cost of delay.

    Maximise Value Through Stakeholder Collaboration

Identify and map stakeholders, gather feedback through the Sprint Review and customer discovery, and turn competing demands into clear, evidence-based product decisions.

    Plan Releases and Forecast Delivery

Apply MVP and minimal marketable feature thinking, use velocity to forecast releases, and communicate scope and delivery realistically within Scrum's empirical framework.

    Lead the Product Owner Accountability

Understand how product ownership differs from project and traditional product management, exercise decision-making authority over the backlog, and avoid common Product Owner anti-patterns.
