    Is there an exam for Minitab Essentials training?

    No. This is a non-certification, skills-focused course with no examination. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on Minitab exercises using realistic quality datasets throughout the programme, so you practise every technique as you go rather than sitting a test.

    Do I receive a certificate after the training?

    Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. It recognises that you have completed hands-on Minitab training; it is a record of completion rather than a formal certification from an awarding body.

    How am I assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead you work through live Minitab exercises alongside the trainer, applying each technique to realistic datasets. Proficiency comes from practising the analyses yourself during the session, not from a graded test.

    Will this make me Six Sigma certified?

    No. Minitab Essentials training builds software skills; it is not a Six Sigma certification. However, the Minitab proficiency you gain directly supports Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt work, where the same statistical analyses are required.

    What will I be able to do after completing the training?

    You will be able to import and manage data, build quality graphs, run t-tests, ANOVA and chi-square tests, create control charts, perform capability analysis, and run regression and Gauge R&R studies in Minitab, ready to apply to your own quality and process projects.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Minitab Essentials course cover?

    The course covers six areas: the Minitab interface and data management, descriptive statistics and graphs, hypothesis testing, statistical process control, process capability analysis, and regression with Gauge R&R. Every module is taught with live software exercises on realistic datasets.

    What statistical graphs will I learn to build?

    You will create histograms, boxplots, scatter plots, matrix plots, time series plots and Pareto charts, and produce descriptive statistics. These tools help you see the shape, spread and main drivers in your process data before deeper analysis.

    Which control charts are covered?

    You will build and interpret I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C control charts, and learn to apply the Western Electric rules. This helps you separate normal common cause variation from special cause signals that need investigation on the shop floor.

    Does the course cover process capability?

    Yes. You will run capability analysis for normal and non-normal data, interpret Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk against specification limits, and produce the Capability Sixpack report used in Six Sigma projects and management reviews.

    Can a beginner follow the hands-on exercises?

    Yes. The course is designed for people new to Minitab or with limited experience. You follow each analysis live with the trainer, so you build confidence step by step. Having Minitab installed beforehand lets you practise every technique during the session.
