What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a computer-based, closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). Questions are distributed across the five performance domains defined in the PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass, can I retake the exam?

Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts at pmi.org. Our prep support and mock exams help you go in ready.

Where can I take the PfMP exam in Dublin?
