    Widening IT Talent Shortage

    What is JIRA Training?

JIRA Training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to use Atlassian Jira for agile project management, issue tracking and team delivery. It is offered at two levels: Fundamentals (2 days, 16 hours) and Advanced (3 days, 24 hours), reinforced through live Jira exercises.

Who should take Jira training in Japan?

It suits software developers, testers, Scrum Masters, project managers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps engineers and Jira administrators. Fundamentals fits new or occasional users, while Advanced suits experienced users who want to master configuration and administration.

Is Jira training worth it for my career?

Yes. Jira is the leading tool for Scrum, Kanban and DevOps delivery, and demand is strong as Japan faces a projected shortfall of around 220,000 IT professionals in 2026. Practical Jira skills help you take on agile delivery roles and stand out to employers across Tokyo, Osaka and beyond.

Should I take Fundamentals or Advanced?

Choose Fundamentals if you are new to Jira and want core skills in projects, issues, boards, sprints and reports. Choose Advanced if you already use Jira and want workflows, schemes, JQL, automation, integrations and administration. Both can be taken in sequence.

    Who develops Jira?

Jira is developed by Atlassian and is delivered mainly as Jira Cloud, with Jira Data Center for self-managed enterprises. The training focuses on Jira Software for agile delivery and also introduces Jira Service Management.

    Pricing

How much does Jira training cost in Japan?

Fees vary by level, delivery mode and group size, so pricing is available on request. Request a quote for Fundamentals, Advanced or both, and ask about corporate rates when training a team.

What is included in the course fee?

Your fee includes instructor-led sessions, live hands-on Jira exercises, structured learning materials, learner support and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Contact a learning advisor for full details.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer tailored corporate pricing for teams, with customised schedules and delivery onsite or live virtual across Japan. Contact us for a group quote for your team.

Do I need a paid Jira licence for the course?

You should have access to a Jira environment for hands-on practice. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users. Confirm with us whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Assessment

How is learning assessed during the course?

Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout each level, rather than a formal test. You practise on realistic delivery scenarios so the skills stick.

What do I receive on completing the course?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning that recognises the practical Jira skills you have built. Those skills are immediately applicable to agile delivery at work.

    Is this a formal credential?

No. This is a practical skills course, not a formal credential. Its value is the hands-on Jira capability you gain, which employers across Japan's software and IT sector actively seek.

    Will these skills stay relevant?

Yes. Jira Cloud evolves continuously, and the core skills you learn, from boards and sprints to JQL and automation, remain directly applicable as the platform updates.

    Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. Every module is delivered with live instructor demonstration and hands-on Jira exercises, so you configure boards, write JQL and build automation as you learn, not just watch slides.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the Fundamentals level?

Fundamentals covers navigating Jira, creating Scrum, Kanban and business projects, managing issues across the Epic to Subtask hierarchy, running sprints and boards, roadmaps and versions, filters, basic JQL and core agile reports.

What does the Advanced level cover?

Advanced covers custom workflows with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, DevOps integrations and Jira administration.

Will I work with real Jira during the course?

Yes. You follow along in a Jira Cloud or Data Center environment while the instructor demonstrates each feature, using realistic agile software delivery scenarios so you build genuine proficiency.

Does the course cover JQL and automation?

Yes. Fundamentals introduces basic JQL and filters. Advanced goes deeper into JQL, including the CHANGED and WAS operators, and covers Jira automation rules with triggers, conditions, actions and smart values.

Is the course based on the latest Jira?

Yes. Training focuses on current Jira, delivered primarily as Jira Cloud by Atlassian, so you learn the features and interface your team uses today.
