The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the flagship credential of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the most widely recognised proof that you can lead projects and teams. It validates your ability to deliver using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and it is recognised by employers in more than 200 countries. This training is aligned to the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, the standard PMI now uses as the exam's primary reference. Riga is where Latvia's project work concentrates, from software delivery and global business services to banking, energy and the Rail Baltica corridor. Employers here hire people who can govern scope, cost and risk across all three delivery styles. How to Get PMP Certified in RigaStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMP certification path in Riga is designed for experienced project managers. You complete the required 35 contact hours, document your project leadership experience, apply to PMI, prepare with mocks and assessments, and schedule your exam through Pearson VUE. Once you pass, you join the global community of 1.2 million+ PMP-certified professionals.

    Step 1: Eligibility Check

Confirm you meet one of PMI's two pathways: a four-year degree with 36 months of project leadership experience, or a secondary degree with 60 months of experience. Both pathways require 35 hours of project management education.

    Step 2: Enroll

Select the learning format that best suits your schedule and goals, including online, instructor-led, and corporate PMP training for teams. Once enrolled, you gain access to courseware, schedules, and a structured study plan to earn the required 35 contact hours.

    Step 3: Attend Classes

Complete live instructor-led sessions or self-paced learning modules included in your PMP training course online or classroom-based program. Participate in case discussions and cover the PMP syllabus across the People, Process, and Business Environment domains, including predictive, agile, and hybrid project management approaches.

Step 4: Document Experience and Apply to PMI

Document your project leadership experience (36 or 60 months, depending on pathway) and submit your PMP application to PMI. Our team supports you with the application process and experience documentation.

    Step 5: Preparation

Use 1,500+ practice questions, 5 full-length PMP mock exams, 1 Agile model exam, flashcards, and the exam simulator to strengthen weak areas and build speed for the 180-question exam.

Step 6: Schedule and Take the Exam

Once your PMI application is approved, schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center or take it online, proctored. Take the 230-minute, 180-question PMP exam covering People, Process, and Business Environment.

Step 7: Pass and Get Certified

After passing, you receive your PMP credential and digital badge, valid for three years. Maintain certification with 60 PDUs across the three-year cycle (35 in Education, 25 in Giving Back).

The Skills You Will BuildPredictive, Agile and Hybrid Delivery

This programme teaches you to plan, govern and deliver projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, mapped to the five performance domains of the current PMI exam. Each domain is taught with worked examples so the techniques transfer straight into your next project, not just your answer sheet.

Lead Projects in Any Delivery Model

You will learn to apply project management principles across predictive, agile and hybrid environments, working through the life cycle concepts, governance checkpoints, roles and value delivery fundamentals that anchor Domain I of the PMI exam and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition.

    Run Predictive, Plan-Based Projects

Build and control a full plan-driven project: charter and stakeholder identification, scope and WBS, critical path scheduling, budget baselines, quality and procurement planning, earned value management, integrated change control and formal closure.

    Deliver Through Agile Frameworks

Work fluently with Scrum roles, events and artefacts, Kanban flow and WIP limits, Lean thinking and XP practices. You will plan with backlogs, story points and velocity, and read burndown, burnup and cumulative flow charts to steer an iteration.

    Connect Projects to Business Value

Run needs assessments, elicit and manage requirements, build a defensible business case, and track benefits with KPIs and post-project evaluation, so the work you lead stays aligned to organisational strategy rather than drifting from it.

    Engage Stakeholders and Communicate

Identify, analyse and classify stakeholders, tailor engagement to context, plan communication channels and cadence, resolve conflict, and report through dashboards and status reporting that senior sponsors and virtual teams can actually act on.

    Prepare for the PMI Exam

Practise against the 180-question, 230-minute exam format, including multiple-choice, matching, hotspot and fill-in-the-blank items. You also get guidance on documenting your leadership experience for the PMI application.

    Closed My Agile Gap

    Consistent Reporting Across Teams

Yes, if you already lead projects. Certified delivery leaders in Riga move into senior, programme and PMO roles that pay well above the local project manager average of around EUR 22,540 a year. Demand comes from ICT, business service centres, banking and Rail Baltica work. Talk to a learning advisor about your route.

    General

Is the PMP worth it for a project manager in Riga?

Yes, if you already lead projects. Certified delivery leaders in Riga move into senior, programme and PMO roles that pay well above the local project manager average of around EUR 22,540 a year. Demand comes from ICT, business service centres, banking and Rail Baltica work. Talk to a learning advisor about your route.

What is the Project Management Professional certification?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the Project Management Institute's flagship credential for people who lead projects and teams. It validates your ability to deliver using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches and is recognised in more than 200 countries.

Who is this credential designed for?

Experienced project managers, delivery leads, functional or team leads who direct project work, programme managers, and consultants whose clients expect certified project leadership. It is a senior credential, not an entry-level one.

Is the credential recognised by employers in Latvia?

Yes. PMI standards are used internationally, and employers in Riga's ICT sector, global business service centres, banks and infrastructure programmes recognise the credential. It also travels with you across the Baltics and the wider EU.

How long does the certification stay valid?

Three years from the date you certify. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs within the cycle across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, reported through PMI's CCR system.

    Pricing

What is included in the training fee and how do I pay?

The fee covers instructor-led sessions, PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, exam simulator access, case studies, application guidance and post-training support. Training in Riga is quoted in EUR and is available on request. Request a quote and an advisor will confirm payment options.

Is the PMI exam fee part of the course price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD, and members pay less than non-members. Fees vary by region and PMI updates them periodically, so confirm the current amount on pmi.org before you apply.

Does PMI membership reduce the cost?

Yes. PMI membership lowers both the exam fee and the renewal fee, and gives members access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide. Check the current membership and exam rates at pmi.org, as pricing varies by region.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. Corporate group training is priced per cohort with customised schedules and content, delivered onsite in Riga or live online. Ask about corporate and group pricing for your team.

Are there extra costs after certification?

Renewal carries a fee every three years, which is lower for PMI members, alongside the 60 PDUs you must earn in each cycle. Re-examination fees apply only if you need a second or third attempt. Verify current amounts at pmi.org.

    Exam

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window from application approval, so a first attempt is not your only chance. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third sittings. Our practice questions, simulators and trainer support are built around getting you ready first time.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice single and multiple answer, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions.

Which domains does the exam cover and at what weight?

Five performance domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

Which standard is the exam based on?

The exam follows PMI's Examination Content Outline, with the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition as its primary reference standard, supported by the Agile Practice Guide. Our courseware is aligned to that same 8th edition content.

What is the passing score and where do I sit the exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed cut score. The result is set through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail with domain feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Sit it online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the eligibility requirements to apply?

Two routes. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary school qualification you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to join the training?

You can join the training at any stage, and the sessions are structured so newer delivery leads can follow them. To apply for the PMI exam, though, you must meet PMI's experience requirement of 36 or 60 months of leading projects depending on your education.

What topics does the programme cover?

All five exam domains: project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based methodologies, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategic management, and stakeholder engagement and communication, plus exam strategy and application guidance.

How much agile content is in the course?

A substantial share. Agile Frameworks and Methodologies is a dedicated exam domain worth 27%, so you work through Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and hybrid scaling, along with backlog management, story points, velocity and agile metrics.

Does the training meet the 35 contact hours PMI requires?

Yes. The programme is designed to provide the 35 contact hours of project management education that PMI requires before you can apply, and you receive documentation of the hours you complete.

    What learning materials are provided?

PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, exam simulator access, chapter quizzes, real-world case studies and downloadable templates, plus post-training resources and email support after the sessions finish.
