What Is the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner Certification?UntitledYour Structured Route into Agile Delivery

The AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner Certification Training in Sweden is a combined agile project management programme that builds structured, governance-focused delivery skills based on the DSDM framework. AgilePM (Agile Project Management) is developed and published by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium, and is aligned to the current AgilePM Handbook and the official Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi. Over an intensive five-day, 40-hour journey, you progress from the entry-level Foundation, which validates your knowledge of the eight AgilePM principles, the lifecycle and the roles, to the advanced Practitioner, which proves you can tailor the framework to real project scenarios. It suits project managers, PRINCE2 holders adding agile skills, business analysts and delivery leads across Sweden's technology, telecom, automotive and public sectors. As Swedish organisations scale digital transformation and hybrid delivery, employers increasingly want agile governance that satisfies audit and control, not Scrum alone. Earning both credentials with Invensis Learning gives you a globally recognised, transferable qualification and a clear, supported path from study to certified.

Industry Challenges Driving AgilePM Demand in Sweden

    Governance Beyond Scrum

Swedish enterprises run agile teams at scale, but many lack a project-level governance layer. AgilePM adds the structure, roles and control that Scrum alone does not provide.

    AgilePM builds agile governance skills

    Auditability in Regulated Sectors

Banking, insurance and public sector bodies need iterative delivery that still satisfies audit and compliance. AgilePM's governance model is built exactly for this demand.

AgilePM builds controlled, iterative delivery skills

    Strategy-To-Delivery Gap

Boards fund transformation programmes, but weak links between business need and delivery cause value leakage. MoSCoW prioritisation keeps teams focused on what matters.

AgilePM builds prioritisation and value skills

    Scarce Certified Agile Leaders

Sweden has many agile practitioners but far fewer with a recognised project management credential. AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner makes holders visible to employers.

AgilePM makes certified leaders stand out

    Hybrid Delivery Pressure

Employers blend agile with PRINCE2 and traditional governance. AgilePM teaches you to tailor the framework so iterative and structured delivery work together.

    AgilePM builds framework-tailoring skills

    On-Time Delivery Expectations

Digital programmes carry fixed deadlines and budgets. Timeboxing and the eight principles help teams deliver on time by flexing scope, not slipping dates.

    General

What is the AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner certification?

AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner is a combined agile project management credential based on the DSDM framework. Foundation validates your knowledge of the AgilePM framework, while Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real project scenarios. It is published by the Agile Business Consortium, formerly the DSDM Consortium.

Who is this AgilePM course for?

The course suits project managers, PRINCE2 holders adding agile skills, business analysts, team leads and anyone involved in agile project delivery. Foundation has no prerequisites, so it is open to professionals at any career stage across Sweden.

    Is AgilePM recognised in Sweden?

Yes. AgilePM is recognised in over 150 countries and is valued by Swedish employers in IT, telecom, automotive, banking and the public sector that run iterative programmes needing structured governance alongside agile delivery.

Why choose Invensis Learning for AgilePM training?

Invensis Learning offers experienced agile trainers, courseware aligned to the current AgilePM Handbook and both exam syllabi, flexible delivery formats, and preparation support for the Foundation and Practitioner exams, helping you move from learning to certified with a clear path.

What are the eight AgilePM principles?

They are: focus on the business need; deliver on time; collaborate; never compromise quality; build incrementally from firm foundations; develop iteratively; communicate continuously and clearly; and demonstrate control. These principles guide every AgilePM project.

How does AgilePM compare with Scrum and PRINCE2?

Scrum is a team-level delivery framework, while AgilePM adds project-level governance across the full lifecycle. PRINCE2 is a predictive method; AgilePM provides an iterative alternative. AgilePM complements both, giving Scrum teams a governance wrapper and PRINCE2 professionals an agile route.

    Exam

What is the format of the AgilePM Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 40 minutes. It is closed book, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. There are no prerequisites to sit it.

What is the format of the AgilePM Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has four scenario-based questions worth 15 marks each, 60 marks in total, over two hours. It is open book, with the AgilePM Handbook permitted, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 30 out of 60 marks.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the AgilePM Handbook during the Practitioner exam. However, the four scenario questions require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient handbook navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential.

What are the prerequisites for each AgilePM exam?

Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. To sit the Practitioner exam you must first hold the AgilePM Foundation certification, or an accepted equivalent. The combined programme prepares you for both in sequence.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can retake either exam. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and exam technique guidance to help you prepare thoroughly. Speak with our team about retake support and re-sit arrangements for your plan.

Which standard are the AgilePM exams based on?

Both exams are based on the current AgilePM Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium, and the official AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi. Our courseware is aligned to the latest edition of the handbook.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the AgilePM training?

The training covers AgilePM philosophy and the eight principles, the lifecycle and products, roles and responsibilities, MoSCoW prioritisation, timeboxing and quality, and planning, control and risk. Foundation builds knowledge; Practitioner develops application.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive courseware aligned to the current AgilePM Handbook, industry case studies, practice questions, mock exams for both levels and revision aids. These resources support both exam readiness and workplace application.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full mock exams for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, so you can identify weak areas, rehearse the open-book technique and build confidence before exam day.

Do I need prior agile experience to take this course?

No. Foundation is designed for beginners and has no prerequisites, so newcomers to agile can start here. The Practitioner content then builds on Foundation to develop applied, scenario-based skills for those managing real projects.

How long is the AgilePM training programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is typically delivered over five days, totalling around 40 hours. Foundation content is covered first, followed by Practitioner content, with each exam sat at the end of its stage.
