What Is Kanban and Why It Matters at WorkUntitledA Visual System for Managing Flow

Kanban training in Thailand equips you with a visual, pull-based way to manage work, whether on a factory line or in a software team. Kanban is a workflow management system that originated in the Toyota Production System, where the Japanese word kanban means signboard or visual signal, and it is now also recognised as an Agile framework for knowledge work. In a single practical programme you learn how manufacturing Kanban authorises production only when real demand pulls it, and how knowledge-work Kanban uses boards, work-in-progress limits and flow metrics to keep delivery moving. The course suits production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, IT and software managers, and anyone in Thailand's automotive, electronics, banking or digital sectors who manages the flow of work. Grounded in the Toyota Production System and David J. Anderson's knowledge-work Kanban method, this hands-on training turns theory into skills you can apply from day one. Build practical capability with Invensis Learning and start managing flow with confidence.

Why Thai Employers Need Kanban Capability Now

    Overloaded Knowledge-Work Teams

Thai software, IT and back-office teams often juggle more work than they can finish, so context-switching stalls delivery. Kanban limits work in progress and restores a steady flow of value.

Kanban limits work in progress and restores flow

    Automotive Supply Chain Pressure

Thailand's automotive and EV suppliers must cut inventory and shorten lead times to stay competitive. Pull-based Kanban systems keep production in step with real downstream demand.

    Kanban builds pull-based production skills

    Slow, Unpredictable Delivery

Employers struggle to promise reliable delivery dates. Kanban flow metrics such as lead time and throughput make delivery predictable and help teams set realistic expectations.

Kanban flow metrics make delivery predictable

    Agile Without Flow Discipline

Banks and travel-tech firms adopt Agile but often lack flow control. Kanban boards, WIP limits and Scrumban bring the discipline that makes Agile delivery stick.

Kanban brings WIP limits and Scrumban discipline

    Rising Cost and Efficiency Demands

As the Eastern Economic Corridor scales, factories face margin pressure and must remove waste. Kanban eliminates overproduction, the costliest Lean waste, and frees up working capital.

    Scarce Flow-Management Skills

Thailand has deep production talent but few people who can design pull systems and manage flow. Professionals trained in Kanban stand out to hiring managers across sectors.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing workflow. It originated in the Toyota Production System and is now also a recognised Agile framework. This training suits production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, IT and software managers, and anyone who manages the flow of work.

    General

What is Kanban and who is this training for?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing workflow. It originated in the Toyota Production System and is now also a recognised Agile framework. This training suits production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, IT and software managers, and anyone who manages the flow of work.

Is Kanban training worth it for my career in Thailand?

Yes. Thailand's automotive, electronics, banking and software sectors increasingly value people who can cut waste and improve flow. Kanban skills apply on the factory floor and in knowledge work, making you useful across manufacturing pull systems and Agile delivery teams.

Does this course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. It covers manufacturing Kanban, including production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets, sizing and just-in-time pull, and knowledge-work Kanban, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and Scrumban for software, IT and service teams.

Do I need prior Lean or Agile experience?

No. There are no prerequisites. The course introduces Kanban from first principles, so it works for beginners as well as experienced practitioners. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations helps with the manufacturing modules but is not required.

What standard is the Kanban training based on?

The training is grounded in the Toyota Production System origins of manufacturing Kanban and David J. Anderson's formalisation of Kanban for knowledge work. It reflects current Kanban practice across manufacturing, software, IT and service delivery.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training cost in Thailand?

Kanban course fees vary by delivery mode, group size and format, and public sessions differ from corporate onsite delivery. Pricing is available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for a quote that fits your needs.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, course materials, hands-on Kanban design exercises, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Corporate options can add tailored content for your team. Request a quote for the full inclusions.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer group and corporate rates for teams trained together, whether onsite, live virtual or hybrid. This is often the best value for factories, PMOs or software teams. Ask about corporate and group pricing for your organisation.

Are there payment or instalment options?

Yes. We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is the training fee the same across Thailand?

Fees are quoted by delivery format and group size rather than by city, so pricing is consistent whether your team is in Bangkok, the Eastern Economic Corridor or elsewhere. Request a quote for current figures.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Kanban course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban design exercises, case studies and group discussion during the programme, so you apply concepts as you learn them.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a practical skills course, so the focus is on building capability you can apply at work rather than preparing for a formal credential.

How is my learning checked during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you complete practical activities such as kanban quantity calculations, loop and board design, WIP-limit setting and cumulative flow diagram interpretation, applying each concept to realistic scenarios.

How long is the Kanban training?

The programme runs for one day, totalling eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions. It covers Kanban foundations, manufacturing pull systems, board design, flow metrics and implementation, with exercises throughout.

Does this course lead to a Kanban credential?

No formal credential is awarded, as this is a skills-focused course. You gain practical Kanban design and implementation ability plus a completion certificate from Invensis Learning that recognises the training you finished.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban course cover?

The course covers Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing, knowledge-work boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban across manufacturing and services.

What practical skills will I gain?

You will be able to design kanban loops and supermarkets, calculate kanban quantities, build Kanban boards with WIP limits and classes of service, measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, read a cumulative flow diagram, and plan a Kanban rollout.

Does the course include hands-on exercises?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout, including push-versus-pull identification, kanban quantity calculation, loop design for a manufacturing scenario, board design for a software or IT scenario, WIP-limit setting and cumulative flow diagram interpretation.

    Which Kanban tools are covered?

The course covers physical and electronic Kanban for manufacturing, and digital board tools for knowledge work such as Jira, Trello and Azure DevOps. You learn how to choose and set up the approach that fits your workflow.

Can beginners follow the course content?

Yes. The content starts from first principles and builds up, so beginners can follow it while experienced practitioners still gain depth. Real examples and exercises help you connect each concept to your own work.
